I arrived before closing time (around 7:20 pm) today and politely explained that I’d place an order but urgently needed the washroom first. A female employee, Hannah, refused and said the washroom was closed for the night because they were “going to clean it.” I reminded her that as a business operating in Toronto they’re required to provide washroom access during business hours. After five minutes of insisting, she reluctantly gave me the code.
Inside, it was clear the washroom had already been cleaned. At exactly 7:30, a male employee, Baden, pounded on the door and told me to leave because they were closed. When I stepped out, he was holding the front door and both employees repeatedly and aggressively told me I had to leave—even though I had arrived before closing and had not yet ordered.
This was unprofessional, hostile, and discriminatory treatment. Denying basic washroom access before closing and rushing a paying customer out the door is unacceptable for a brand that claims to value customer service. I wish there were more merchandise available for purchase (cups, straws, etc.) but it is a tiny space so I completely understand!
This location I believe is accessible, with an automatic door. They have vegan and vegetarian options for beverages, though only vegetarian options for food.

Also there’s a third barista (I’m so sorry I forgot their name - Min possibly?) He made me my favourite drink - the Fuzzy Peach (green tea peach lemonade with a splash of passion fruit)! I made that back when I worked as a Starbucks barista in 2017 or so and i was happy to have that nostalgic drink again!

The manager that’s name I think was Linette was horribly rude & unwelcoming.A friend & I came in with our dogs & there's not a no dogs sign (many of the Starbucks we go to are dog friendly).
