UPDATE: The Burger’s Priest has moved further down on Queen Street East! Its original location it used to be at was the first Burger’s Priest location to launch in Toronto, and the line went down the street! Now, it’s still busy, but much more manageable and they have much more space to work with. I’ve come here multiple times for their delicious burgers, fries, and unique selection of innovative burger creations. The staff here are impressively efficient and hardworking. They’re used to taking custom burger orders, and do a fantastic job at getting it done fast and accurately. The location itself is small, with only a few chairs alongside a table on the inside. In the summer, they provide a makeshift front outdoor eating area with umbrellas to protect you from the sun. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their Classic Cheeseburger; nothing can beat it. Fresh ingredients, tender beef, melty cheese. Their fries are also special, being beautifully seasoned, a red-golden colour, and crispy. My fiancé loves their Bacon Cheeseburger, and we’ve one gotten the Vatican to split. Their burger creations are incredible and taste as good as they look. The milkshakes are DIVINE here. They use quality chocolate, fresh cream and milk. I can attest that both the chocolate one and the salted caramel one are HEAVEN. I highly recommend this new Burger’s Priest location! You can taste the difference in their burgers and fries from the fresh ingredients they use, as well as the care they put into the preparation.

I’m sharing this review to ask the staff to ensure they’re clear about toppings requested when inputting a customer order. Today I asked what additional toppings were available for the Impossible Burger and requested them added. When I later opened my burger at home I realized that ONLY the additional toppings had been included and all the standard toppings had been excluded: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, g14. Perhaps the staff misunderstood my ask. So I’m sharing this with the hope that Burger’s Priest either adds a screen where the customer can see the input and verify it’s correct, or the staff verbally confirm they heard the order accurately. This is the 2nd time I received incorrect toppings from this location, but the last instance I ordered through an app and I had received no toppings at all. It’s such a big disappointment to receive a very incorrect order.

My friend and I went to this Burger’s priest location around 10:45pm yesterday and ordered poutine since it looked good. We asked for extra crispy and less gravy and to be honest it was so hard we couldn’t even eat and enjoy our food and they put so little gravy it was laughable. I don’t think I’ll ever visit this location again. It seems like they already made the fries and just refried since the staff seems lazy, I get it they were closing in an hour but I paid $8 for trash poutine. I had to keep asking for extra gravy to try and salvage it but it still tasted bad.

Never going back for sure. Was there with a friend, place was crowded and I get that... but the staff were doing nothing to help alleviate or make the experience good. Got up there and ordered, having been too crammed and pushed to read the menu (8 months pregnant and with my 2 year old in my arms getting knocked and pushed too).

Asked for a plain cheeseburger with just ketchup, smallest one they had and got major attitude from the cashier that the sign was clear they only had one size. Like... okay lady... unnecessary and unhelpful. Ordered a chicken burger and listed the toppings I wanted and she rudely said “it comes already dressed” and then another guy came and listed what it came with... so I said that I didn’t know that and just wanted a couple of basic things. She said I could “add to what it comes with”... but I couldn’t remove anything I didn’t want?!

Okay, so this is already frustrating - I’m new to the restaurant and was made to feel like I was stupid and unwelcome... not a great way to gain new loyal customers if you ask me. But then it got way worse. Their “system crashed” about 2 minutes after my friend had her order and mine had been placed 10 minutes ago. All work stopped. My friend and her kids stood there with their food getting cold. I stood there waiting. The staff all stood there like confused hamsters... without their “system”, they couldn’t do anything. There were only 3 people waiting for stuff but they didn’t try to remember what we’d ordered, they sure didn’t ask us... they just stood there for 15 minutes until the system rebooted. No burgers cooking, no fries being made... just stood there. So, 15 minutes later the system came back up and they started working again... not rushed, not apologetic, just went back to working and some time after that I got my food... by which point my friend’s was all cold. Not a word said, they acted like I should be grateful to have gotten food (with the toppings I didn’t want because of their menu insistence) at all.

Last strike: a guy a couple of people behind me then got his food with a big apology and some free “upgrades” and stuff for his trouble having had to wait.

Note: the food was good (better if they hadn’t put stuff on it I specifically didn’t want... but good). No complaints there. But being treated like trash and then having to wait and watch 5 employees all just stand around instead of making food (which lots of other restaurants, in my experience, do pretty well without any “system” at all),...

UPDATE: fast forward 1 year and I must unfortunately downgrade my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars…they changed their menu significantly and got rid of a lot of premium toppings and items (I used to love the blue cheese topping and the chilli fries and both were removed from the menu). The burgers we got were not the high quality ground beef patties we had before but something akin to cardboard. The burger tasted like a bootleg Big Mac except at a significantly higher cost. Staff were still very friendly, but had a hiccup with my order not being given to me when done and no napkins or utensils were packed.

All in all, there seemed to have been significant changes in their food sourcing and processes that has resulted in a huge downgrade in quality with an emphasis on being fast. This is most disappointing as they now seem to have dropped in food quality so much that there is really no reason to come back when you can get a real Big Mac or other fast food burger for the same price or even less. We will not be returning.

Left my original review below from about a year ago. Really sad to see the drop in quality.

Friendly staff, great food! We had a hankering for burgers and the ones hear are of great quality! Really, like the bees’ knees! The staff was also extremely courteous and efficient. Many thanks to Sandra for her kindness in...
