Obscenely fun fun fun. We got there waaaaay too early to be considered cool but it didn't matter. We'd planned out party bus (lol) for my mom's 65th after the photo shoot and all the kids were ready to rage. Even at 9:15, the vibe was already awesome. Pianist was finishing a set and telling some jokes. Got to meet Momo who was the perfect hostess - available, accommodating, fun! By the time the cool kids were arriving at 1:30, we were, sadly, already on our way out.
We arranged a table because it was a special occasion and my sister got to sing a song - she brought the house down - just saying. She. Was. Alanis.
The vibe is of our time but also from a time long lost (or who knows... Maybe it only exists in our collective rose-tinted memory). Unpretentious and, I can't say this enough, fun.
People were LITERALLY just making friends in the crowd like it was the 90s. Single people were LITERALLY meeting romantic interests IRL.
We eventually had to go home at 2ish because some of us started to "hit the wall" (I'll admit it was probably at least partly me) but it's a night that you wish would not end.
Not super expensive but also not cheap. Pre-drink a little (maybe other recently decriminalized substance)? YOU DON'T NEED TO GET WASTED. THIS PLACE TAKES YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO BE! Once you're in, you're transformed.. Go with the flow and enjoy! Whatever the expense... It's worth it!!!!! Support a local business providing something that is unique and amazing!!
Can't wait to get back. I just need to find a song that I feel brave enough to hit all the notes. My sister has lungs... I'll just try to remember the words: "I see you shiver with anticipation!"
For a special occasion, take a table. The minimum spend is reasonable and so worth it.
** Note: I read my own reviews and get so much joy from the negative ones, so I had to read the worst reviews for JD (and the replies 🥰). Some people just don't get it. They never will. Want this Doctor's advice? Get up, get out, shut your critical mouth, have a drink, have some fun and smile. Maybe you'll actually enjoy a moment in your life. Nobody loves a critic. On that note, I'm looking forward to being skewered by JEAN...
Read moreThis place has a cute concept and seems great in theory, but unfortunately, the reality doesn’t match the vibe. It felt like a high-pressure sales trap from the moment we walked in, and I left feeling scammed.
There’s zero transparency around drink pricing. No menu, no listed costs—just a bartender who enthusiastically says, “I can make whatever you want!” So we ordered two margaritas and two espresso martinis. When it came time to pay, there was no itemized bill—just a server who said, “Standard tip is 20%,” clicked a button without waiting, and charged my card $109 on the spot.
You’d think with those drink prices, they’d be able to pay staff fairly. But no—gratuity was auto-added without our consent. Apparently, that’s how they fund their “karaoke,” which is a whole other bait-and-switch.
Despite advertising itself as a karaoke bar, it’s not. You drop your song request in a hat, but don’t expect to be called. Instead, they bring in professional singers who blend into the crowd and dominate the mic, making it feel rigged. It’s not karaoke—it’s a staged performance sold as crowd participation.
Honestly, the whole place felt like a curated Instagram trap—more interested in being trendy than in offering a genuine or fair experience. If you want to know what kind of business it is, just look at how they respond to negative reviews. The lack of integrity and customer care shows in...
Read moreI’ve been to a number of these types of establishments and displeased to say this was my least favorite of all of them. One of the bartenders was cool but the other one was incredibly rude. Service was poor. Drinks were decent albeit overpriced. I wish I would’ve read some of the other reviews before coming here (the owner does not seem to take any criticism well, looking at the responses to 1 and 2 star reviews) instead of thinking this would be something similar to past experiences. Things that could be done to improve the experience: -At minimum, have some drink menus at the bar (with prices). -It’s a small area. Some more targeted speakers throughout the venue could help balance out the sound. -Politely ask that certain staff members not be overtly rude to their customers. -Stop lashing out at everyone who leaves a 1 or 2 star review. Some humility would go a long way.
I won’t be back, but hope that some small improvements can be made to elevate the experience of all patrons. These types of establishments have been home to many wonderful nights for me and I want others to find that same joy I’ve found in the music and camaraderie of a...
