A Culinary Journey to Remember: An Indian Affair in Langley
If you're looking for an extraordinary dining experience that tantalizes your taste buds and warms your heart, look no further than “An Indian Affair Restaurant” in Langley, Canada. We visited from the USA, and thanks to a colleague who is close to the owners, we had the pleasure of experiencing this gem firsthand. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something special.
The ambiance of An Indian Affair is simply enchanting. The entrance greets you with a serene, cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of a tranquil hall, setting the stage for the evening. It's a place where elegance meets comfort, making it the perfect spot for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. We were a party of 12, and every single one of us was captivated by the setting.
But it wasn't just the beautiful decor that won us over—it was the warmth and hospitality that made our visit truly exceptional. The owner, Gary Bakshi, personally greeted us, and it was clear from the start that his passion for his restaurant goes beyond just serving food. Along with his wife, Anu, they've created a dining experience that is as much about the people as it is about the cuisine. The servers were friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure our evening was perfect.
Now, let's talk about the food—because it was nothing short of spectacular. From the appetizers to the main courses and even the dessert, every dish was a masterpiece. The presentation was flawless, rivaling what you might see on a top-tier cooking show. Each plate was a visual delight, crafted with precision and care. But it wasn’t just about how it looked—every bite was an explosion of flavors. The balance of spices, the freshness of the ingredients, and the expert preparation made each dish unforgettable.
Our meal concluded with a delightful ginger tea, the perfect way to end such an incredible feast. The quick service, the phenomenal turnaround time from kitchen to table, and the overall experience were beyond anything we could have imagined.
If I could give An Indian Affair more than five stars, I would. It’s rare to find a restaurant that excels in every aspect—ambiance, service, presentation, and of course, taste. Gary, Anu, and their entire team have truly set the bar high. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and memories that we’ll cherish long after our return to the USA.
To anyone looking for the best of Indian cuisine with impeccable service, An Indian Affair is a must-visit. This restaurant is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience that will stay with you long after your last bite. Thank you, Gary and Anu, for making our evening one we will...
Read moreThis is our second visit to Indian Affair, and it never disappoints! We arrived around 4:30 pm—busy but not crowded—and ordered some chicken wings in two different flavors, fish pakora, and a glass of wine. Perfect for satisfying our cravings!
Fish Pakora - Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired with their house-made chipotle sauce that’s simply amazing! (5/5)
Chicken Tandoori Wings - The smoky flavor is spot-on, and with the mint sauce, it’s a treat for the taste buds. (5/5)
Chicken Schezwan Wings - Good, but could be a bit spicier and juicier. (3.5/5)
Wine - Complements the meal well! (4/5)
We also love the warm and friendly ambiance, and the staff who is friendly and warm! There’s a happy hour, and they seem to offer something new every day. This wasn’t quite lunchtime or dinner, so we didn’t get to try more, but whenever we’re in Langley, we’ll definitely be back to explore the menu further!
————————————————————————— We loved the food and ambiance here! We visited around 1:20 PM, and it wasn't crowded. They offer a daily buffet until 2:30 PM.
Food: The starters are amazing and the buffet is worth the price, with special mention to the fish pakora, tandoori chicken, and chicken samosa - all delicious. 5/5 They also have quinoa salad, mac and cheese, and other dishes as well.
Main Courses: The buffet includes butter chicken, naan, veg pulao rice, baigan ka bhartha, yellow curry, aloo palak, chicken curry, and lamb curry. We particularly liked the butter chicken and lamb - 3.75/5 while the other curries were decent but less spicy - 3/5
Desserts: The buffet also had gulab jamun, rice pudding, and tea. The only thing is gulab jamun was broken and they all tasted good, especially the chai - 4.5/5
Apart from the buffet, I ordered coconut prawns and a lime mojito. The coconut prawns were absolutely delicious - 5/5, and the mojito was well-balanced without too much ice - 4/5
Service: Ishika helped us today, and we really liked her. She approached us with a warm smile, offered timely help, suggested good food choices, and also informed us about the happy hour. She has pretty good knowledge about the drinks and good. We'll definitely visit again to enjoy the happy hour with more friends this time.
Atmosphere:A quiet, fine-dining ambiance. I really liked the jade green chairs, clean washrooms, and the spacious occupancy, suitable for parties and team lunches.
Overall, we had the best experience and would...
Read moreI placed an order on Saturday, July 29, 2023 for take out and wanted to express my experience, as this was the first time my wife and I had ordered food from your restaurant.
The fish pakora were cold. We live about 5 minutes from your restaurant and were surprised as this was the first impression we got. We called in to the restaurant when we got home to kindly let them know and they offered a credit for our next order for a replacement. The pakora had to be reheated and had a weird texture. Maybe they were old or just not cooked well enough but we each had 1 piece and decided it was inedible.
We had requested that both main dishes be medium spicy (Chicken kebab and chana masala). My wife and I are accustomed to spices as we regularly eat North Indian food but these were exceptionally spicy to the point it was not enjoyable. We couldn't finish either dish and stopped half way through.
We ordered an assortment of naan; garlic and basil, plain and palak paneer. The plain and garlic naan were paper thin and over cooked to the point of not being edible. The palak paneer naan was the only one we actually ate, even though it was still more like a thing Roti rather than a naan, so out of the 6 naan that we ordered only 2 were edible. The garlic and basil naan was missing basil and it seemed to be sprinkled with garlic powder, and we were not sure if this was normal for your restaurant, as garlic naan normally has fresh garlic and butter on top.
The raita had a strange smell. We both tried a little bit and stopped. It did not taste like a normal raita would and the appearance was also strange, a light brown colour? I forgot to dispose of it that night and it sat in my fridge until the next day, at which point I opened it out of curiosity, and attached is the picture of it.
Overall, my wife and I were very disappointed with our first experience at your restaurant. We were actually really looking forward to trying out the food here as we just moved into the neighbourhood and the reviews seemed amazing. I am not sure if our experience was just a one off, but I wanted to be honest with about our experience. We will not be coming back nor recommend this restaurant to friends and family for the lack of communication and response from the...
