We had a great time at Alchemy with our team of 10 plus people. We ordered several appetizers to share, such as the crispy calamari, the cheese board, and the nachos. They were all delicious and generous in portion. For the main course, we had a mix of burgers, salads, pizzas, and pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meal and commented on how fresh and flavorful everything was. The drinks were also amazing, especially the signature alchemy cocktails that came in colorful glasses and had creative names. We tried the Philosopher's Stone, the Elixir of Life, and the Transmutation, and they were all refreshing and potent.
The best part of our experience was the service. Melika greeted us warmly and seated us promptly. She checked on us throughout the night and made sure we had everything we needed. She also gave us some recommendations on what to order and what to avoid. She was very knowledgeable and friendly, and she made us feel welcome and comfortable. She even surprised us with a complimentary dessert platter at the end of our meal. It was a nice touch that made our night even more special.
We had a blast at Alchemy and we can't wait to come back. It's a magical place that offers great food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. If you are looking for a fun and memorable dining experience in Vancouver, you should definitely check out Alchemy. You...
Read moreEverything was fine, and the restaurant was considerate. They have pasta night on Monday, and we asked in advance if we could do both the pasta night menu and the regular menu because the night was a birthday celebration, so we would like to have more than pasta. They knew we were celebrating a birthday. Although they couldn't write "Happy Birthday" on our dessert plate, they played a birthday song.
The funny thing was by the time the server delivered the dessert to our table, the song ended already lol
Honestly, everything was fine except for the service of our server. There were only 3 tables when we were dining there. There were plenty of empty tables. We ordered a bunch of different things, but he didn't think our table was too small. I thought perhaps the food won't all be served at the same time, so our small table would be OK, but after the first dish, everything else was served at once. Our table was obviously too small, but the server asked us if we could put all the food from the previous dish onto our plates… but then even if we did that, the table was still too small for everything we ordered. It was then he decided to move another table over and told us, while we were doing what he asked for, we didn't need to do that anymore…
When we were still eating, he somehow came over and wanted to take our food away. We were shocked and said we were still working on it, and then he left. Just kinda funny… never encountered a server...
Read moremade birthday reservation, didnt have table for us it was given to someone else (we showed up right at reservation time were not late) and was told we could move there once they left, why did i make a reservation then? i want to sit and get comfortable now not be waiting for a table, so we sat by the cold entrance, got asked for dietary restrictions or allergies and we told them someone is vegan then they were rude and said they didnt ask that, when they clearly asked for dietary restrictions and thats one, then we called the day before to ask if they had vegan items, they said they had vegan cheese, then the server said nope we dont, we made him go ask the kitchen and then all the sudden they do have it, then found huge hair in birthday boys food, we got to eat and he sat and waited for his food to be remade, then they made us still pay for the bday boys meal that had a hair in it, they gave the bday boy the choice of a free shot or dessert, after him finding a hair and still making him pay for his food, on top of a gratuity that they put on the bill (we were a group of 6 people and nowhere online does it say they automatically add gratuity to the bill before we went at least) they really shouldve given both, will never come back here, was very not impressed and birthday boy was not happy with his bday experience and then had to basically be forced to tip 18% on an awful dining experience,...
