A cozy hidden gem for Korean-Chinese fusion lovers! Stumbled upon Book Kyung Ban Jeoun & BK Karaoke and was seriously impressed. The food was flavorful, hearty, and comforting — exactly what you'd want on a chilly Vancouver day. We tried their three signature dishes: 🍖 The Sweet and Sour Pork was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a perfectly balanced sauce — not too sweet, not too tangy. 🍜 The Black Bean Noodles (Jajangmyeon) had that deep, rich umami flavor, with thick noodles that soak up every bit of the sauce. 🔥 And the Spicy Beef Brisket Noodle Soup was SO satisfying — a bold, savory broth with tender slices of beef that hit the spot. The atmosphere is cozy and casual, great for grabbing a meal with friends or even staying for karaoke afterward! Service was friendly and quick. Definitely feels like one of those local spots you want to keep coming back to. Highly recommend if you're looking for comfort food with a fusion twist! Will be back for another round of noodles… and maybe a karaoke...
Read moreFood was really good. I had Sweet & sour pork and side spicy seafood soup ($4.5). The pork dish was rather in a trending style than the conventional form of this dish. Served separately from the sauce, fried pork strips were super crispy, chunky, and juicy inside. I loved it. Spicy soup had a couple of squid & mussels meats, tasted quite spicy and a lot of MSG which is not too bad. Good for the price.
1 star for service. The male server wearing glasses was lazy and unprofessional. He didn’t care much about the tables he was serving(3-4 tables). The whole time I was there, he was chatting with his coworker/ friend dining at a corner. He forgot to bring me a glass for 5 minutes after serving me a water bottle. When I asked him for it, he gave me one that tasted like dish detergent. When I told him that and asked him for another, he brought me new one but didn’t say anything or gesture of being sorry. I really enjoyed the food but this server really shouldn’t represent...
Read moreTerrible service. Was told to wait for a table for half an hour (we ended up not waiting that long, thats the only positive). After the first 10 mins another big group came in (who were korean) and they were told the wait was five minutes. When a table was open servers offered the group who came in after us to sit.... when we did get to a table, it was too small and they did not bother to combine/ push the tables together when there was an empty one beside us. We had to ask for another table to be added. During the meal we were not served proper utensils or sides. After the meal they put in automatic gratuity, even though it wasn't indicated anywhere and our group only had 5 people. Meal was mediocre, the jajangmeon sauce wasn't mixed properly and had pieces of undissolved thick starch. Take your time and money else where. (They treated my friend totally different last time since she was with...
