My favourite cafe in Vancouver. Croissants and pastry oh my goodness, gluten heaven. Owner remember regular customers by name and usual order, which makes this place truly special. The European atmosphere makes this place unique and different from most franchise cafes. I work sometimes in marina and lunch break here is my best part of the day. Bagels and sandwiches are stuffed with fresh veggies and filling 🤤 and when you eat in they served little cup full of fresh fruit. Homemade ice tea is the best refresh in hot summer. Love this place Edit: Someone obviously wants lower rating of this precious place. All fake reviews down, the staff is professional and if you cannot behave, is no reason for them to treat you any special. If you look at the amount of regular customers think is proof of quality of Breaking bean👍🏼

Mediocre, over-priced coffee. Ordered a large 20oz latte, it felt more foamed milk than coffee. Tasted like it had just 1 espresso shot. I would expect 3 shots for large size. The speed at which they made me latte after ordering, it couldn’t have been hand-crafted unless it shots and milk were premade. (Tip to the barista) stir your shot and pour milk slowly in circle when making latte. This was your customers wont drink plain milk in beginning and espresso at the very end.

Great experience- amazing watching the tiny two person team work together to switch roles between preparing food (like making crepes), taking care of customers making coffee and everything else needed to run a small shop. They were exceedingly friendly, service was quick, they are located right by the waterfront. The food and coffee were so good it's the only place we ate at twice on our trip. It is a bit expensive but not bad at all considering the location.

While passing by this café near Stanley Park , I noticed a small sign at the entrance advertising siphon coffee, which immediately caught my attention. Intrigued, I decided to step inside. The space is quite narrow, but the glass display case filled with a collection of unique coffee cup sets adds an interesting touch. Their menu offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, which seemed appealing at first glance. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. From the moment I entered to the time I placed my order, the staff member’s demeanor was cold and serious. Perhaps it was just an off day, but it certainly didn’t make for a welcoming atmosphere. The café only has a few seats, but there was a steady stream of what appeared to be local regulars coming and going. My coffee arrived fairly quickly, served in a traditional ceramic cup with a distinctive design, which I appreciated. However, the coffee itself was a major letdown. As a fan of siphon coffee, I found it to be one of the worst I’ve ever had—completely lacking in both aroma and flavor. If you share my love for siphon coffee, I’d advise giving this place a pass. It just doesn’t live up to...

Came in last week and ordered a 20 oz latte, was extremely flat, tasted like it only had one shot in it when realistically a large size should have 2 maybe even 3, and never in my 36 years of life have I seen a group of employee/ employers act this way online nor in Person. Not even McDonald’s. The lady behind the counter had an extreme attitude as if I wasn’t allowed to even be there , which normally I can tolerate (I have also worked in customer service) but I just saw a video on Tik Tok and learnt I’m not the only person who has come across a negative experience in this supposedly “family friendly” caffe. Come to read the reviews and turns out there’s more than a couple people who feel this way. Just because your regulars can tolerate your attitude doesn’t mean the rest of us can or will. Do better!!! The only positive thing I can say for now is it is a cozy, clean caffe. Other than that would it recommend. And to the owner: so immature !! Reading your responses to constructive criticism from the people who put money in your pocket and food on your table and seeing the way you respond is beyond mind blowing. No respect. Work BC , Shut...

If you’re in Vancouver and looking for a cozy spot to grab a bite, you absolutely have to check out Breaking Bean Café! This place is run by the sweetest couple who are there almost every single day of the year working tirelessly to provide homemade options to locals and those visiting the area.

The moment you walk in, you feel right at home. The food is fantastic! They whip up fresh, high-quality meals that never disappoint. Whether you’re in the mood for a delicious bagel, crepe, a tasty pastry, or a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, you can’t go wrong here.

I love that they focus on using fresh ingredients, and their menu has something for everyone. It’s a perfect spot for locals and visitors alike to kick back and enjoy a good meal in a relaxed setting.

Seriously, if you’re in the Coal Harbour area, don’t miss out on this spot. It’s a little slice of happiness in the city, and I can’t...
