Went here for the mother's day 2022 buffet special menu ($65 per person) with my mom and dad (whom I haven't seen for a bit) and unfortunately left quite disappointed.
Yesterday we had called several times to enquire about parking around the hotel and no one picked up. We called several times today in the morning and no one picked up again. We ended up taking the transit which was no problem for us, we just thought that the place was incredibly busy so they didn't answer the phone. When we arrived, there were only 3 other tables occupied (there are probably a total of 15 tables or more) so we were curious as to why no one picked up the phone.
Upon arrival we were shown the mother's day special menu and not informed if any changes have occurred. We mainly went here to enjoy the seafood platter especially the Baridi Crab but we couldn't see the crab at the buffet stand. When we enquired about if there is crab as stated on the menu, the waitress asked someone else and informed us it will be restocked soon. We waited around 20-30mins and walked up to the seafood platter and noticed the seafood platters was restocked but no crab. We asked the person who was behind the counter and they went to ask someone in the back. They come back out and said "Oh it's not on the menu." we were confused as it said it was and they replied "yeah we changed it." my family and I were disappointed that we were mislead with what was on the menu. We then also realized that the smoked mackarel wasn't there as well (which said it was going to be on the menu). No substitutes for the missing items.
Upon paying for the bill, we had mentioned to the person who we asked about the crab in the beginning that we were disappointed that the crab was not in the buffet today despite saying it was, they responded with "yeah they changed the menu." and nothing else, like a "It is what it is" situation. It seemed that the staff were unaware of the changes to the menu and there were no substitutes to the changes. Unfortunately the food was also mediocre (salmon was very fishy and some items were very saltly). We wish we received an apology for the changes in the menu but we didn't get any. I'd rather have a staff be up front and mention that they were also unaware of the changes and apologize for inconvenience than bouncing around with information.
Going forward, I think it would be a good idea to either mention on paper that the menu is subject to change and to inform the staff is an item has been taken off instead of misleading customers that go there. And if the menu does change last minute, to substitute it for something else. I understand if they had sold out of the crab (or the mackarel) completely rather than it didn't exist at all despite saying it would. One person said it was coming and another said it's not on the menu. The menu is also online so they should've changed it too.
Overall it was a negative experience when we wish we had a positive one. We did our best to enjoy as much as we could but left...
Read moreIf you're looking for a top-notch dining experience in a welcoming atmosphere, Cafe One at the Sheraton hotel is definitely worth checking out. The first thing that struck me about this restaurant was the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and made to feel right at home.
The service was equally impressive, with attentive servers who made sure that everything was to my liking. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations on what to order. I also appreciated how they were always available when needed, but never intrusive or overbearing.
Now, let's talk about the food. The dishes were all well-prepared and beautifully presented, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the vegetation options, which were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The menu also had a good variety of seafood and meat options.
As for the atmosphere, it's hard to beat the ambiance of Cafe One. The decor is stylish and sophisticated, yet still comfortable and inviting. Whether you're there for a romantic dinner or a casual lunch with friends, you'll feel right at home in this elegant setting.
Overall, I highly recommend Cafe One at the Sheraton hotel. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and inviting atmosphere make it one of the best dining experiences in town. If you're looking for a memorable meal that you won't soon forget, this is the...
Read moreCan’t actually rate the food, as we never ended up eating here. My colleagues and I came here for breakfast before a conference we were attending in the Sheraton. We made the reservation for an hour before we had to be in the conference hall, thinking that would be enough time. The waiter was prompt at the beginning and took orders for beverages, then came back to take orders for food about 40 minutes before we had to be in the conference area. 3 people were ordering food, and we were told it would not come in time, as it would be at least half an hour. They were not ordering elaborate breakfasts; e.g. they were things like avocado toast, no extras or modifications. The restaurant was not busy. We couldn’t understand why it would take at least half an hour to prepare three simple breakfasts. The two colleagues who ordered lattes paid for those (said they were average), and hoped that those would fill them until the break, where there would be catered snacks from the Sheraton. Our bad for not being upfront about our timeframe and ordering food at the same time as drinks, but we really didn’t think we needed to do that with a full...
