WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Last night I called at 6.30pm and asked for a reservation for 7 people in 45 minutes, which would have been at 7.15pm, was told that we might need to sit at 2 separate tables, ok, that's fine. We showed up with friends who were visiting Vancouver from LA for the first time and I had praised Chongqing restaurant so highly (previously we had many WONDERFUL times with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE on Kingsway and Surrey locations), so our friends were excited to try. There was a line up and the restaurant was really busy. I approached the waiter who I had talked to, he said give me a few minutes. After waiting outside for 20 minutes, I entered and asked about our reservation, he got angry and said that I told him on the phone we'd be there in 5-10 minutes, I said plain and clear, no 45 minutes, but he insisted, and said in a very irritated tone "sorry I dont have a table for you". We were beyond shocked at his blunt and rude manners. Why make us wait so long if you don't have a table? I understand, that it's a small and busy location (our first time on Robson), if we had known we would have driven to Burnaby, and we see that the waiters are very stressed with the lineups and having to serve such a busy location, but come on, you can't treat customers so disrespectfully. Please correct...
Read moreOrdered for the first time, we ordered take out-the Resturant stated it would be 45 minutes- the restaurant is 5 mins away from our place. It finally arrived 1-1/2 Hours later- it was lukewarm. The shrimp with peanuts was awful, the shrimp was over cooked and dry, the entire dish had 5 shrimp and was mostly green peppers- the ginger beef was terrible!!… low grade of beef- liver tasting like hanger steak and a thick brown goopy sauce that was unappetizing, the Szechuan noodles were DRY- and I mean DRY!.. inedible! The only decent thing was the sweet and sour pork and the spring rolls would have been good if it wasn’t Cold- we ended up dumping the sweat and sour pork into the noodles to try to keep the dust from the dryness!! But the noodles were cold ! This Resturant wasn’t inexpensive- the meal was $95!… for two of us, we just moved to the area and this was a Huge disappointment! Our first meal at our new place and this Resturant ruined it! AVOID if you want hot Chinese delivery without waiting way too long and wanting something edible-...
Read moreMy friend A flew from overseas to meet me, and I decided to take her to ChongQing for Thanksgiving Day lunch.
We hoped to find some lunch specials, but there wasn't any on the menu. I've previously tried Tan Tan noodle, lettuce wrap with beef and Hot and Sour soup before, so I ordered Tan Tan noodle ($9.95). A did the same except her Tan Tan noodle came with porkchop ($9.95 as well).
Our food was delicious and filling. It had peanut buttery smoothness with spiciness. I had to admit mine was spicy whereas A's Tan Tan noodle combo was less spicy. Pork chop that came along with Tan Tan noodle was tasty. It came out fresh and also had a hint of curry powder. Service was a bit slow because it was short staffed there. Waitress and the owner were so busy doing serving, bringing food and etc. I loved the portion of Tan Tan noodle and both of us couldn't...
