This cozy corner of town just got its spark back, and I’m here to sing its praises from the first sip to the last bite.
From the moment you step in, the vibe has transformed into something warm, welcoming, and quietly glamorous. The new owner has clearly sprinkled a little magic on every detail—from the brightness of the counter to the careful curation of the pastry case. It’s not just a café; it’s a haven where you can pause, breathe, and treat yourself.
The coffee deserves a shout-out. Rich, aromatic, and impeccably balanced, each cup seems crafted with a calm confidence that tells you you’re in good hands. The baristas move with practiced ease, greeting regulars by name and offering a smile that feels as inviting as the warm brew in your hand. If you’re a latte lover, you’ll appreciate the crema that sits like a tiny, edible sunset on top of every cup.
And the pastries—oh, the pastries. The display case is a temptress of textures and flavors. There are dreamy slices with layers that glide from creamy to crunchy, topped with playful drizzles and little bursts of flair. The chocolate-drenched slices look almost too pretty to eat, but once you take a bite you’ll understand the temptation. The flaky croissants, with glossy chocolate coats or pistachio accents, pair perfectly with a bold espresso. It’s dessert as art, and you’ll want to try a little of everything.
Food offerings in the rotating menu boards feel thoughtfully sourced and well-balanced. The sandwiches—griddled to a warm perfection with crisp edges and fresh fillings—make for a great, satisfying lunch. The focused, well-priced all-day options mean you can drop by any time and always find something that hits the spot.
What truly elevates this place is the atmosphere. The space has a new energy: lively enough to be social, serene enough for a solo work session. Music that nudges your mood up without shouting at you, lighting that’s flattering but not fussy, and a staff that makes you feel like you’ve found a neighborhood spot you’ll want to return to week after week.
If you haven’t visited since the new owner arrived, consider this your invitation. The transformation is real, and it’s a delight to experience. A fantastic place, through and through—bright, tasty, and...
Read moreHi I don’t usually write reviews but I decided to have my grandson help me today after what I witnessed at this once loving coffee shop.
I saw three young students get harassed and kicked out of the shop, and it broke my heart. From what I saw and heard the new owner seemed to be frustrated that they were not buying anything, and instead of politely asking them to buy something, he broke down in anger out of nowhere. He yelled at them, called them names, and even threatened to call the police. Any attempts made by the students for civil conversation was blindly rejected, and makes me wonder if their racial diversity also had a role in this incident. They even offered to buy something, but to no avail.
Seeing this happen made me wonder what could happen to me if I was young, a colored person, and not just the old white guy that I am haha. I used to go to this place quite often when Bruno was still the owner and it brought me great joy to sit down with a good book or meet a friend. Back then the relationship between those in front and behind the counter was not a transactional one. We knew each other's names and could even crack jokes from time to time.
Unfortunately since Bruno sold ownership a few years ago the establishment has not been the same. The food has lost the life it once had, and the baristas don’t smile quite as often as they used to. I don't even know the name of the new owner, and he probably does not know mine. My grandson also pointed out to me that most of the good reviews are from many years ago when Bruno was still the owner. Back then, I could sit for hours reading or waiting for a friend not ordering something, and there would not be any problems. Like I said, the relationship and environment was not transactional.
Sorry for the long review, I don’t usually write them. Naam, just a short walk East of Corner Cup tends to give me what this place used to have, it's not exactly a coffee shop, but they are much more welcoming. Have a...
Read moreThis used to be a great place, but the quality of the service has dramatically decreased in the last year or so. The place was nearly empty and there were 2 waitresses at the till, but we had to wait 10min until they take my order. I went to dine today for lunch. We ordered 3 sandwiches, 1 lemonade and one smoothie. They have about 8 different smoothies on the menu, but they only had one available...this is because they don't prepare them fresh anymore, they just get a frozen pouch and heat them up. I had to ask again after 10 min of waiting to get the lemonade for the kids. Eventually I realised she forgot to prepare my sandwich so I reminder her. After being there for a good 25min (my kids were done with their sandwich by then!), I asked again about my sandwich. She said she was out of salad, tomatoes, and cucumber (so basically everything she needed for my veggies sandwich!), and she was waiting for her boss who went to buy more!!! If I hadn't asked I would still be waiting there! Actually I was so shocked by her answer that I didn't know how to react. I asked if I could get anything else instead and she just looked at me speechless. So I told her to give me what she had started to prepare - 2 toast with bad cream cheese and I guess what was the last leaf of salad in the kitchen - because I didn't have time to wait any longer. She didn't offer a refund or anything (15$ dollar just for toast & cheese...). At least she was polite. I still can't believe the level of incompetence and that they can't even realize how bad the service has become. Obviously I'll never...
