I had a wonderful dining experience at Curry and Grill, and here’s a breakdown of the dishes and drinks I tried: Fish and Chips: The Fish and Chips here were surprisingly good! The fish was tender, lightly battered, and perfectly fried to a golden crisp. It was soft on the inside and had a lovely crunch on the outside, paired with a tangy tartar sauce and a lemon wedge for that extra zing. It was a great twist on the classic, and the portion was generous! Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (Mocktail): This mocktail was a star of the evening! A beautifully balanced drink, it had a mix of fruity and floral notes, with hints of rose, pomegranate, and a dash of citrus that made it feel light yet refreshing. It wasn’t overly sweet, which I appreciated—it had a sophisticated flavor that went perfectly with the spicier dishes. Lacha Paratha: This was the kind of paratha you dream about. It was crispy and flaky on the outside with just the right amount of softness in the layers. The butteriness was just enough to make it indulgent without being overwhelming. It paired wonderfully with the curries and grilled items on the table, and I found myself reaching for more! Pudina Paneer Tikka: The Pudina Paneer Tikka was absolutely delightful. The paneer was perfectly grilled, with a smoky char, and the mint marinade gave it a refreshing zing that was a great contrast to the richness of the paneer. It was flavorful without being overpowering, and the mint chutney on the side complemented it beautifully.
Overall, Curry and Grill hit all the right notes. From the crispy Fish and Chips to the unique and refreshing Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai mocktail, and the aromatic Pudina Paneer Tikka, every dish felt carefully crafted. The combination of flavors and textures made for an enjoyable and satisfying meal. Definitely a place...
Read moreI dined in last night with a friend, and while there were some highlights, there were also areas for improvement. We ordered the vegetable samosa, which was supposed to have paneer inside, but it seemed to be missing. The samosa itself was flavorful, though it did have a cold spot inside, which made me think it might have been frozen.
Service was quite slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Our tea took a long time to arrive, and while I understand that cleaning glassware is important, it felt like more attention could have been given to the tables.
As for the food, the Shahi Paneer was much paler in color than what I’ve had at other restaurants, but the flavors were still rich and complex. The Aloo Gobi, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were smaller than I expected compared to similar restaurants, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Overall, I was hoping for a smoother experience. While I’m not sure I’d dine in again, I’d consider takeout...
Read moreI have tried this place twice right after their opening. I first had take-out for a Diwali potluck. The palak paneer was very flavourful and the biryani was liked by everyone. Note that mild level of spiciness is relatively spicy compared to many local places.
For the second time, we dined in and had British fish and chips, daal, biryani, and lamb chops. The daal was excellent and the lamb was perfectly done. Nice roasted surface with juicy tender inside. Maybe I am not accustomed to British fish and chips because I have never been there. The fries were fresh cut and good. The fish, in my opinion, was ok.
This location was formerly a drink and eats place and still has that look. Although they still serve alcohol, don’t worry if you just want to eat. Portion sizes are good. I brought kids and felt totally fine and welcome. I will definitely come back often.
note: If you say their name quickly, people may think you are saying “Korean Grill” and...
