Saucin Staples ~a place where you'll get the best of both the worlds! Believe me, if you haven't tried a combo of Mac'n Cheese with Butter Masala(Chicken/Paneer) ever, you're seriously missing out!

This place is an Urban Indian Kitchen that offers the taste of Mumbai with a Modern Twist! All of their food items are so unique & full of bursting flavors!

What we got:

Mac 'n Cheese with Paneer Butter masala sauce ~a unique combo with all the deliciousness overloaded! So comforting! A MUST TRY!!

Biryani rice with Beef Korma sauce ~perfectly cooked aromatic biryani rice with the beef korma sauce poured all over it. So flavorful & satisfying!

Samosa brekkie ~perfect crispy goodness!

Cilantro Chicken Tacos ~so flavorful! The chicken was cooked and seasoned to perfection, hugged in a warm blanket of soft tortillas! So good!

Mint Smaash ~a perfect summer drink having basil seeds, mint, freshly squeezed lime! So yummmm!

Strawcha ~freshly stewed strawberries with a hint of cinnamon on classic Indian black tea! Yummmm!

Gulab Jamun Crème Bûlée ~a heavenly delicious combo! A MUST TRY!!

Totally in love with this spot! Can't wait to...

Highly customisable options with tacos, biryani, mac and cheese and samosas to choose from. When I walked in for my takeout order the shop was clean, well lit and nicely decorated. The smell of butter chicken and spices hit me immediate and it really got me hungry. I enjoyed the fish korma biryani (5/5) the most. The fish was flaky and tender, the korma was flavourful without being too rich, and the biryani was super aromatic with lots of spices and fried onion/garlic on top. The biryanis are a decent portion. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the coconut chickpea curry (1/5) as the coconut flavour was super strong and the chickpeas were undercooked. Perhaps those who enjoy coconut will enjoy this, but it wasn't to my taste. The butter chicken tacos (3/5) were a really small portion and there was a lack of filling. I personally don't think the tacos are worth it and suggest sticking to the biryanis which will fill you up. The butter chicken itself was decent. The chicken was tender but I thought the flavour was missing a little something. I definitely recommend this place for their fish...

It aims to reinvent traditional Indian cuisine for a modern era. Thus, I’d consider this restaurant as an entry to the complex world of Indian food. The restaurant doesn’t try to be exclusively Indian. Rather it’s a bright, open, and modern space offering diner styled Indian Foods. They have a selection of tacos but they’re not Mexican tacos. They’re Indian recipes. It’s a clever intuitive method of garnering attention from other cultures. I personally ordered the Chicken Butter Tacos which came in a set of three and the Paneer (Tofu) Butter Mac & Cheese. The portions are not overly large but not quite small (~1350grams). The foods are mild not spicy at all, however, spice doesn’t always mean good tasting and the food is definitely delicious. Staff were nice and attentive towards my needs. They even gave me the wifi password and a creme brûlée without me asking for it! The restaurant would be a good option for local residents and for visitors after 6pm as the parking is free at that time. For walking type dates too as there are some nearby parks to venture into and the food is easy...

Really wonderful Indian food in a casual setting! Had been meaning to try their food and finally made it out on a weekday around opening. We were initially skeptical of the portion sizes, but found our bowls quite filling for lunch. 2 of us had the Biryani and 1 had the Mac & Cheese. Love that you can customize your meal with the protein and sauce. I had the smoked pulled pork and coconut (vegan) sauce. The meat was tender and the sauce had a nice depth of flavour. It came with a good amount to coat the rice and protein, and the same could be said for the other bowls. Well-spiced and full of flavour. I bought a recommended bottled vegan beverage (Plant Veda Cashew Drink) and loved it, although the price tag was steep at $5.75. It was a refreshing compliment to the food, but I might skip it next time around. Service was friendly and there was a bit of a wait for our 3 bowls (around 10 minutes, based on my recollection), but that's when you know it's being made fresh! Will definitely be back.
