Since my wedding venue was closing at 11:00pm, we were in search of a venue to take our after party to. D6 was recommended to us as one of the best new lounges in the city and the hottest party spot. We put our names on the guest list 3 months ahead; moreover, I was staying at the Douglas hotel for 2 nights as a guest. When we arrived, the inside area was very crowded, so we went on the patio. There were some kabanas, which were empty but they had to be reserved in advance (which we didnāt realize at first). There were also some empty tables. We asked one of the waitresses if we could push the three tables together for our party of 15. The waitress said that we can sit at the tables if we wanted to but they will not push them together for us. I then politely asked if I could speak with a manager. The waitress walked away and called another waitress. I then proceeded explaining to her (again) that I was staying at the hotel and we had our names on the guest list for a few months and this was my special day and I was really hoping they could make a one-time exception and push 3 tables together (the tables were not far apart to begin with and the patio was not really busy) to what I received a response that they are not going to push anything together for me and my day was special enough already. She said she cannot make the decision and I need to speak with a manager. I asked to call the manager right away and she started walking away. I asked her what her name was but she continued walking without turning around. Marley, who came a few minutes later, was great and pushed the tables for us and even got complimentary shots for me and my husband but the experience was ruined by incompetent and rude staff. At the check-out the following day, I shared my experience with another manger on duty (Kiera?) and she seemed truly upset and kept apologizing and promised to follow-up with the staff and send me an email once itās been doneā¦. Well, a week later I still havenāt heard back from her. Conclusion? From my personal experience, the service at the venue is not special and the staff need to undergo more training. If you are looking for a lounge for your party, I had by far superior experience at Prohibition and Fairmount Pacific Rim; Yaletown also has better options to offer. Regret my decision to come to D6 on my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot worth the headache. Went before a concert and hereās everything that went wrong: had a reservation for 8 people. They seated us at a couch with ONE stool opposite and two tiny (tiny!) tables we were meant to have drinks AND meals on. I requested a new table and was told that is the style of all their seating except the high table tops, which only sat four each and could not moved. We asked to have two four-tops and were met with resistance. server told us we couldnāt switch seats once we sat down because it would make settling the bill difficult. We said we wouldnāt. And didnāt. four of us order food at the same time. Two pizzas, and two salads. Pizza one came out. A good 30 mins went by then one salad came. Ten minutes later, the second salad. Both were iceberg lettuce with maybe three cherry tomatoes cut in half, the one with the chicken add on had a piece of chicken with the bone in, and the other salad had three pieces of crumbled bacon. $18 salads! Iāve never had sparser salads in a restaurant. A half hour later, the last pizza comes but only after my friend inquired about it and was told it had been sitting at the table behind us getting cold. It was reheated and brought back out. THEN! The best part. We ask for our bills. Server brings them. Three out of four of us pay - Iām the fourth and in the bathroom. After the first three pay, everyone realizes we were charged full price drinks and meals despite it being happy hour - cheaper drinks and 20% off food. For the next 20 mins, chaos ensues as the server tries and fails to adjust the bills and provide refunds. We are now 20 mins to concert start and still waiting for the server to print, reprint, print, reprint incorrect and correct bills and refunds. To be clear, there were FOUR bills - two for one person each, two for couples. No one changed seats throughout dinner and the bills were still a mess and total confusion. Itās still not clear to us if everyone was refunded because we finally had to tell the server we had paid $300 for these concert tickets and needed to go.
We were the last table of concert goers to get settled up and got to our seats with five minutes to spare. We asked for our bill well before half the restaurant vacated.
Worst service and food Iāve had in a long, long time. Give this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to D6 twice amd the first time I was there I really enjoyed everything and today I was attending tulum day event with all of my friends and I had bought the ticket two months in advance. I was so excited about the event, unfortunately the staff specifically a girl who was checking in ( black person) was so unreasonable. I was waiting for them to check us in almost 20 minutes and I had distance from their table so I asked them from the line why everyone is checking in without standing in the line and they said every single person was VIP which I doubt. My friend had a big table and they told me to tell the name and check in and I told her and she denied (although all of my friends were partying upstairs). I said never mind to myself and waited to get my tickets scanned, they SCANNED both of the tickets and she told me (black person) I reported you if you have the same attitude upstairs I will get you out of here . My question is what attitude was she talking about I just asked a simple question. I said okay , left and forgot to get my stamp and as soon as I went back to get my stamp she said I won't give you the stamp you can go get your refund. What kind of customer service is that? Because I didn't get a VIP ticket I don't deserve to get my stamp for the ticket I paid for? I apologized to her for any miscommunication and asked to see if there's any manager which they can let me know if I can get my refund cause they SCANNED MY TICKETS, she mentioned there is no manager and I have to deal with organizer which I am doing. If D6 is saying they are luxury lounge I believe everyone should get luxury service also. Maybe she needs some help I don't know but please let her know she can't act like this in a professional manner because she just doesn't get my vibe or doesn't like my appearance. She ruined my friends' and my day completely. More training is required for staff in a...
