Good selection with helpful, knowledgeable employees. I gave them 3 stars only because I really wanted this specific hat, and I knew they could order it in for me instead of me having to pick it up in Washington then probably having to get it resized. So I asked for it and was told I would get a call back when the order went through or something to that effect. I called back a week after the fact not getting a response, and a different fellow (the less eccentric one) said he didn't know what I was talking about but they had a call from Stetson so that may have been a call regarding my order. I looked online and what I wanted was still available so instead of being safe and ordering it myself, I trusted that they were on top of it.

Another 10 days or so goes by and I call them, generally worried that I have not gotten a call back when he told me originally that he would call me to confirm the order had been placed, and again the less eccentric guy picks up the phone and told me that any orders placed probably wouldn't be here for another week or so. So I wait another week and call again. The original guy I spoke to answered the phone and I was like, dude, what's up, and he asked which hat it was obviously but when I said what it was it was obvious he didn't remember me. He asked my name and said he would look into it. 10 minutes later I get a call back and he said he just checked and they were out of stock of the product I originally asked for almost a month ago. Well of course they are. If he would have placed the order when I asked I would have gotten the hat. It really bothered me because I could have ordered it online at any damn point but I trusted them because I have bought product there before.

It's a fine company just don't order anything...

Now, let me tell ya a little somethin' about The Rockin Cowboy, they sell new and vintage stuff like hats, boots, shirts, and accessories (belt buckles, knives, etc.), but this ain't your ordinary thrift store; they sell some high-quality, good stuff, so inherently they rock on the higher end of the price scale. Not super expensive, just pricey. Understand the difference?

Now, I'd had my eye on a leather hat for quite a while, I'd been window shopping and going in the store, trying several models, different sizes, but never buying anything (yeah, like that kind of people). Anyway, I finally set my mind (and my budget) to buy me the hat I wanted, went in, tried a couple models until I found exactly what I wanted! I was very satisfied with my purchase (though it went a little above $100 CAD 😫), still pleased I decided to go online to look for further information on my new acquisition such as care and maintenance instructions, etc. but such was my surprise when I found I -overpayed- for my hat!

The moral of the story is: be sure if what you want, do the research, and if you're happy with your purchase, don't cry over a few bucks. Yeah, maybe I could've got it cheaper online, but that opens the door to a whole nother set of possibilities for disappointment like it didn't fit well, it had a stain, etc, etc, etc.

Bought my first Stetson here. Was initially helped by Dan, answered a few questions, bought spontaneously. Did online research afterwards, hat was too big, touching ears. Went back about a few days later, Dave was in, gave me more insight and helped. Sized down and put some liner in. Dave was really patient with me, let me walk around the store, while I tryed on three different sizes of the Adelante. Really got to dial in my size with no pressure. He politely reminded me the store was closing after a few hours. Time flys in here. Exchange was no problem, he didn't even want to see the receipt.
