I originally posted this review on Yelp but also wanted to share the hype on google too. I was genuinely surprised to find an authentic Iranian food in a little shop along Victoria Drive, don’t be fooled by the name of this restaurant. The chef told us he had learnt how to cook from his mother since when he was a child, a good 60 years of experience! Sure enough when we tried the food, it transported us to a place far away. We had the meat platter with tender tomato stewed chicken, salad, lentils and rice. It somehow managed to be both delicious and wholesome. We also tried a mix of lamb and beef donair wrap that the owner suggested to us. I have to say it is now my favourite donair wrap in all of Canada. The chunks of meat were incredibly moist and succulent. Really can’t get this quality at your run of the mill donair shop.
And FYI the baklava was to die for. I’ve tried baklava at several different middle eastern bakeries or restaurants around the lower mainland and this is by far the best.
I’ve yet to try their waffles and bubble tea but looking forward to...
Read moreMy husband and I went there on a whim one night. We tried the soup, which was fantastic. We are new to Canada, so we are still unused to the big portions here. That chicken platter was good for two! Amazing and so beautiful and healthy! My husband, though he ordered the same, couldn’t keep his hands off my food for the duration of the thirty seconds he had to wait to get his portion served haha! It just looked that good! The taste didn’t disappoint at all. Manny, the owner, prepares even his own hot sauce because he cares so much about good ingredients and healthy food. The jasmine bubble tea was so fragrant, a dream! I always go for Earl Grey but this time I was so impressed with the jasmine! Great service, friendly owner and delicious food! We will be...
Read moreTried this place with some friends and was very impressed. We got the bubble tea and everyone liked their flavours. The slush had a bit of a creamy texture which was delicious and the coconut jelly were great (they had pearls or coconut jelly). I tried the pina colada slush and would definitely get it again..
They also had a diverse menu that included savoury items (like donairs and gyros) and lots of sweet items (like shaved ice done in a couple different ways). They had baklava which looked delicious. If it wasn't so hot I would have got one. We've already decided to go back to try the non-desserts.
Staff (possibly owners) were super friendly and checked that we liked everything and pointed us to a...
