Vancouver is SOOOOOO Delicious 😭 Sharing the Ultimate Foodie Guide ā€¼ļø

Terrible Experience overall from beginning to end. Arrived at 10:05pm and promptly booked a table for 2 with their QR system. It indicated there was no one onĀ theĀ waitlist and no one lining up for a table. When a table did open up, the two people who came in after us were given a seat first. We end up waiting for 20 minutes before another seat was available and didn't end up seated tillĀ almostĀ 10:30. Initially we placed an order of the Almond Paste Special and the Tofu Pudding ith Red Bean, and we had given the order to the server before we sat down. Server came over and initially told us that they ran out of Almond Paste. We pressed them a little and said we came over specifically to try it, they admitted it will take about ten minutes. I didn't really trust service would be that fast so I changed my order to Taro Sago Coconut Milk with Taro Mochi. The dessert temperature overall felt lukewarm at best and had a funny smell. Luckily there was nothing that tasted funny, but there is an artifiical taste to it. The sago balls was not fresh and lacked texture in your mouth. I almost mistakened one of the "fresh" taro pieces for a Mochi peace because it was so lumpy and chewy. The Tofu Pudding w/ Red Bean was somehow worse. The tofu texture was very broken, lumpy and there was a also a mild sour taste to it, which even the syrup they provided couldn't mask. The red bean was acceptable I suppose. Also since we were given our food till almost 10:40 we weren't able to enjoy the experience and we left as soon as we finished.

There always seems to be a huge lineup whenever we walk past this adorable little dessert house, and for good reason, it’s clearly a local favorite. Tonight, though, we decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get in. I used their online waitlist system, and within just 15 minutes we were seated. It was smooth and convenient, which set the tone for the whole evening. The menu itself is impressive, one with choice after choice that make it almost impossible to decide. There are fruity, refreshing options, rich and creamy puddings, as well as traditional HK favorites. It’s the kind of place where you know you’ll need to come back more than once because there’s no way to sample it all in one visit. The Lychee Tea was a nice touch. I finally decided on the Mango Pomelo Sago and made it extra special by adding Pearls and Taro Mochi. The mango was bright and fresh, the pomelo added a little zing, and the chewy mochi gave it a perfect texture. My husband and I really enjoyed it. My Dad went classic and ordered a bowl of Grass Jelly along with a bowl of Tofu Pudding. Both were light, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet for the jelly but he needed extra syrup for the pudding. What impressed me just as much as the desserts was the service. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed. Everything about the visit left us smiling, and we’re already planning our next trip back. I can't wait to try the Ginger milk!

One of the worst dining service I have ever got.. we arrived at this place after dinner and it was already very crowded. There was only one table left and it was near the air vent of the A/C, so it was really cold. We kindly ask if the server could please adjust the temperature a little bit and she just looked like all confused without saying a single word to us, which made us felt like we weren’t respected..

Nevertheless, we were still looking forward to the dessert due to those positive comments on google and the massive amount of promotion as well as marketing that this store has been done on diverse platforms.

When we looked at the menu, we got even more disappointed: they require each guest to order at least one dessert and no splitting bill is allowed.

Well.. and after the desserts were served, everything just appears to be too overpriced because the portion is extremely small.

The most unbelievable thing is that there isn’t any taro in sight in the taro sago with coconut milk. (We have been to many other dessert shops including places like the snackshot, they generously have much larger portion and great amount of taro chunks). Since we didn’t see any taro, we asked the server if the kitchen had forgotten to put it in, the server replied ā€œthe boss has decided to mix the taro with the coconut milk therefore no taro is observableā€.

Ok, so I guess this store is just doing a better job at ā€œsellingā€ and ā€œpromotingā€ them than other dessert shop, that’s why they are so stingy when it comes to their choices of ingredients and the portion of their serving (as well as the alleged real-existed ā€œtaroā€???). :)

As the other comments have mentioned, artificial tastes and small portions. The service doesn’t make you feel respected so we didn’t tip them.

When we were about to leave, one of the server came up to us and forced us to pay the tip, everything just seems insane.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that I know and I will just go back to...

I've heard about this place for the past year and I haven't gotten to try it out due to the Pandemic. And I've always wanted to drop by here with my friends. But I finally got a chance to drop by!!

If you know me for years, I LOVE a good warm dessert, especially the HK style Chinese desserts. It reminds me of visiting HK with my friends! I am so happy there is such a place, and what makes it even better, having them served hot while the snow is falling outside makes it the perfect condition!

My friends and I visited the place when Vancouver was having that LARGE snow storm and my friends and I was craving for desserts at the same time. I liked how they dealt with the whole waiting for a table situation. They would tell us to drop our name on a phone website and put for how many. With the website itself updating the que at the same time. So me and my friends chose to wait in the car which was parked just down the block anyways. It was quick and simple too.

I had to order the Ginger Milk, as it has been SOOOO long since I have something like this for a while! On top of that, they would pour the warm ginger at your table so it would coagulate right at your table. It comes with a plate of fruit of your choice as well and you can add as much as you want for the mixings.

Waited for a good 4 minutes before I started to dig into the dessert, and the amount of jiggly of the milk was perfect too. This is something I have been missing for so long that I was 100% satisfied. I will for sure be coming back with my friends for sure! Next time wanting to try a lot of their stuff on the menu. But that basic Ginger Milk is all I need sometimes for a...
