Wonderful! This is an Indian cafe with breakfast and lunch food like sandwiches and samosa and occasionally specials like chana and roti or idli sambar, and chai. There’s also a small bubble tea menu as a nod to when the space was previously a bubble tea shop. I’ve tried the paneer and schezwan veg sandwiches, and two of their chais. The presentation of the paneer sandwich in particular was very nice, topped with sev and with some ketchup for dipping on the side. It had melted cheese in addition to the paneer, so this is definitely one for cheese fans. Anyway, it was delicious - not really spicy, but with the intense masala flavour that I love and some green chutney to add some brightness. The schezwan veg sandwich was lighter and refreshing, and still very flavourful. Their chai is also great! They check your preferred sweetness level but will make recommendations which is very thoughtful of them; I usually take chai unsweetened if I have the choice, but the man making it suggested just a bit of sugar and it was actually perfect. Their food is super affordable - sandwich and chai comes to around $10. As lovely as the food is, it’s equally nice to talk with the owners! We had a great conversation the first time I visited and I learned more about the cafe and his family. They seem like very nice people. I admire their goal of promoting their cafe through word of mouth rather than investing in social...
Read moreI am just so amazed by the whole experience of this place, as soon as I walked in I could sense the love and care put into every corner of the cafe. I was welcomed by the owner and the team, felt right at home. The menu prices are very reasonable and for the quality of the food they serve, I would not mind paying a few dollars extra. I can assure you that I am not affiliated with them in any way, today was my first time and I could not wait to leave a review so more people can find out this little gem that’s right in downtown. Especially if you are from India, you will know exactly what I am talking about - it’s your aunty cooking her favourite recipes with all her heart, poured right into the plate. It’s quite lovely
Read moreI see a recent review of someone mentioning they got their online order cancelled 7 times and I agree - I had many such experiences ordering via Uber Eats. I had my order cancelled 4 times by this restaurant and each time it happened when I tried ordering 4 or more of the ice cream carrot smoothies for my entire family. I had my time wasted and was quite annoyed each time. Don't you guys like making money?
To the restaurant owner:
Why don't you put a LIMIT on how many smoothies one can order, instead of canceling on customers?
Edit: Added screenshots of some of the cancelled orders, since the owner would rather spew lies in public instead of telling the truth. I don't have time to sift through all the cancelled orders but here are a few of them. And no thanks, I don't have time to go see you in person - which is the entire point of why I've been...
