Popped in for a quick coffee ahead of my nail appointment as I was a touch early ( 23 minutes to be exact). My standard order is a dry cappuccino. I sat down and waited for my name to be called. 10 minutes had passed so I did a casual cruise by the barista bar and nothing yet. That's ok, I have time and I know this cup of coffee is going to be great because Prado uses great beans and I've always loved the way they make my drinks. "Taryn" she calls and I wander up tp pick up my coffee. The cup feels very heavy. " Did you make this dry?" I asked the barista who looked a tad overwhelmed. "Dry means more milk?" Nope. I was basically served a latte. She politely offered to remake the drink and I took her up on it. It took another 10 minutes! by the time I had my first sip I only had 3 minutes before my appointment so I slammed about 1/4 of it and had to go. Sadly, I think staffing issues have impacted what used to be once of my fav coffee spots in the city. I am happy to pay more and tip well if a coffee is made correctly but sadly this was not the case. If you are looking for a well made espresso based drink I might suggest you keep looking for now. Hopefully this was just a one-off and things return to the delish Prado standards that I used to love.

Service was great and the pastries are tasty. I ordered the macadamia nut latte and everything was good. The espresso isn't burnt like most places

We bought a Bellman Stovetop Steamer, but our commercial size burners are too big, so we we've been going out for coffee a few days a week. Of all the places we visited, the baristas at Prado Hasting CONSISTENTLY make the best microfoam. Pictured here is a cappuccino and latte with oat milk. See how smooth and thick the foam looks? No big bubbles. The shots are pulled correctly so that we don't need to add sweeteners to the drink. Not everyone can make a perfect 49th Parallel espresso shot. They do it here every single time – so far! The chocolate dessert in the picture is vegan GF black bean brownie. I only had a bite because it has sugar and I am trying to go sugar free. They close early on Saturdays and Sundays. It seems their regulars are still coming in just before 3. What's with coffee shops that close at 3 pm?

Visited the place yesterday for the first time and I was in for a rude awakeming. The young white girl who made my coffee made sure she was sarcastic and didn't hesitate to pass insulting comments again and again which felt was due to the COLOR OF MY SKIN!

I ordered a wrong drink my mistake and it was a simple fix to correct it which was just adding a bit of foamed milk! The barista was very sarcastic and found it "funny" that I mis-ordered, she made sure she repeated this throughout the time making coffee, laughing about it with her coworker right In front of my face. I even said it's okay if she doesn't want to help, she said it's okay and took the cup and then while handing the coffee back she made sure she targetted me again by passing insulting comments.

I just wanted a coffee in the morning but instead had a horrible start to my day all thanks to your barista. The coffee was really good but the racism and sarcasm that came along with it wasn't. My suggestion would be to be very mindful while visiting this place as Canada is a country with a lot of diverse population and we don't tolerate such behaviours/people.

Management please fix this as it looks like it's not just me who has problems with this particular employee and is very disheartening to see people still feel/do this to others without any...

No heater in the winter so I was freezing when sitting there and trying to get some works done. And the washroom was way too complicated as you have to ask the staff (the staff was not polite and friendly either) for the access code of the door between the cafe and the back tunnel, and then you have to walk a looooong way in order to get to see the doors of the washroom, and that's still not the end of the story. You then have to use the key (which also requires you to ask for from the front counter) to open two doors to actually get into the washroom. I don't understand why the washroom is so secured in this cafe. I spent too much energy and time on figuring out how to get to the washroom, and thanks to my poor functioning kidney I started to feel like I want to go to the washroom again half an hour later. Only by thinking of the steps required for me to get to the washroom again, I hesitated and decided to leave here and try to find another cafe where they have easier washroom with higher temperature. Not impressive. I just wanted to get my works done why it turned out to be a washroom hunting...
