Great place for lunch, brunch or dinner. Dinner could be pricey but lunch and brunch prices in line with other high end burger or brunch places. Plus you get great view and comfortable seating rather than in a crowded little bistro.
Post pandemic update: Everything said before still holds true post pandemic except with post pandemic inflation.
The service was excellent. Server refilled water and checked if we needed anything often enough.
Mussels were excellent. Loved the broth so much as I tried to suck it up into the bread.
Seafood Carbonara was excellent. We switched out spaghetti with the gluten-free option, which turned out to be penne, but it was done well.
Tenderloin was excellent. Didn't want fries or mashed potatoes, so it was fortunate they had roasted fingerling potatoes listed on another dish, so I subbed that in.
Parking near 33rd Ave/Kersland Dr and walked up as usual.
2024-12-12: Just had our company Christmas lunch here and although the mealtime service was great and the food was great, I am a little disappointed on how this event started.
We made a reservation weeks in advance and arrived on time to find the table(s) not ready for us. I was even late to arrive and still we had to wait at least 20 to 30 min more for our table which seemed like they didn't set aside a section for us like they had in previous visits. I remember we had our luncheon here twice before (pre-pandemic) and both were with rectangular tables pushed together so our large group could sit together. Since the pandemic we generally ate at the Teahouse and that was how they arranged our reservation.
This time the staff seemed to want to seat us at two round tables, at least they were next to each other. Eventually the first became available but the second had people who were taking their time leaving. The host (manager? I didn't see name tag) didn't want to intrude on them but our manager gave them a few minutes but then insisted that he talk to them to leaving as we had a reservation and everybody had metered-parking (except for me, see my notes above).
The meal was good, I had the salmon burger and shared the asparagus dish with another person. The burger would have had a bit more coleslaw as a burger dish on it's own but was fine since we were sharing an asparagus dish also. The asparagus was really good too with it's chargrilled flavour and sprinkled cheese (parmesan?).
The service staff were generally good, we had 3 that I could remember: the first server gave the specials but didn't know the price of the Arctic Char but said she'd ask about the price but never got back to me. A second took drink orders and a third, final, server took our food order and served us the rest of the time. Plus, the serving staff each apologized for our wait at the start of this event.
We didn't get charged gratuity. Some suspected it was compensation for our reservation being mishandled, but I think they just forgot. If the management really wanted to compensate us, they could, at least, send a shareable appetizer like the brussel sprouts or asparagus to each table. This way, it's the management taking responsibility without hurting the serving staff by possibly denying some gratuity/tip as the lowest tier tip on the charge machine is 15%.
In summary, food good, service staff, good-ish (first server lowered the rating), ambiance: good (we got tables the smaller room rather than the main dining room), but the start was not good and I blame that gentleman that we interacted with at the start or whoever decides the tables knowing there's a reservation of...
Read moreWow.... Beautiful space with views to match. We needed to eat something while waiting for some stuff happening at Children’s Hospital. Children’s Hospital is kinda in a food desert other than stuff thru a window.
Lets cover parking first. There is a valet service at $14 flat fee and apparently no time limit. Not sure if you could valet and do park only 🤔 but misssing out on the The Seasons in the Park eats would be a mistake. You can also park on the street too for hourly rate. I bought 1.5 hours at about $8. So really ,even with tip the valet lot at $14 might be a better value. Certainly if you plan to do the whole park experience ( we did not have time) and catch a meal at The Seasons in the Park.
This is perched up in the park and the view over tree tops to downtown skyline and mountains of the north shore is AMAZING. Think of an oasis in a beautiful park that is in and of itself an oasis. The view will only make your meal better.
The staff or hosts is a better description here are professionals. These are not kids dropped in to run a chain. These are people than read the mood and expand your experience. We were made welcome the second we entered. We probably looked a bit rough too so thank you for the warm welcomes from beginning to end.
Depending on your expectations you will find this is not the least expensive option. The food here is real and made with care from ingredients not from a box with a franchise logo on it. Look around at this property and the logistics of running this restaurant in that location and you can see the pricing is excellent value. Otherwise go back down the hill and look for food you eat in your car. The meal cost for two was just over $100. We had AMAZING salads , and the truffle fries and a couple of big glasses of wine and a latte. I kinda love all things truffle so yum yum. We chose Tomato Burrata and the Tuna Avocado salads. Both were excellent. The Tuna is similar to Tuna Tataki but crusted with pepper ,salt and sesame seeds and other stuff possibly. With greens and a very light dressing. I am not often impressed by a salad....and I was very impressed with this one. I would say best salad with tuna so far ever. I have had more that I can remember....I will remember this one. The last bite as good as the first...except for it being the last bite 😋 The Tomato Buratta ,my wife enjoyed very much. She is fussy too so hats off. Something my wife mentioned was the generous portion size . Yes these were meal sized salads . She also feels a salad for the memory bank. She describes it as perfect. Cannot recall the last meal that got that stamp of approval. Happy wife happy life...pricless.
Truffle fries were perfect . Not over powered in truffleness and not salty.
I hope one day to return and do a dinner or brunch here.....probably the whole park experience too. As well as use the valet lot. Go big or go home ...right ?
10 stars sll the way ...Thanx...
Read moreWe hosted our wedding lunch reception at Seasons in the Park, and while the food were great, the experience as a private event left much to be desired.
The venue is undeniably beautiful, with a lovely natural setting and elegant dining room. The food was well-prepared and received compliments from many guests. We also appreciated that the drink menu could be customized to our preferences. Overall, the pricing was fair and offered good value compared to other wedding venues in Vancouver.
I booked the restaurant’s private room nearly a year in advance. One month before the wedding, I followed up with the restaurant to confirm whether there were any updates to the group menu or pricing. They didn’t provide any updated menu or mention a price increase, either by email or during our walk-through. I was only made aware of the updated pricing through the breakdown of the prepaid estimated costs. Although the price difference was small, I believe it should have been communicated clearly.
Due to a tight wedding schedule, I had sent in the main course selections for each guest ahead of time. The restaurant then said there was no need to print menus, which I agreed with, but I asked for printed drink menus for each guest, and they confirmed this was doable. However, on the wedding day, I only saw one printed drink menu appear on the table near the end of the reception.
I also requested three specific items included in the group package, which the restaurant had confirmed they could provide: tablecloths, votive candles, and easels. However, on the wedding day, only the tablecloths and place settings were provided — not even basic salt and pepper shakers were on the tables.
After the main course was served, one of my family members was missing a knife. He stood at the entrance waiting for a server for at least five minutes, but no one came (There was supposed to be one server and one server assistant for my event).
Although we paid a private event setup fee and the mandatory gratuity for the private event , I felt the service we received was worse than regular restaurant guests. Reasonable requests were overlooked, and there was a noticeable lack of attention to detail.
Seasons in the Park offers beautiful surroundings, great food, and overall good value, but the service for our private event fell short of expectations. Despite confirming every reasonable detail via email well in advance, several important things were still missed. If you're planning a special event here, I strongly recommend having someone on-site to oversee everything and make sure the day...
