This is going to be a longer review then expected but details are important to add here and hopefully my review will help improve the charcuterie board since this was the only reason we decided to come visit yesterday evening.
Our waiter named Raven, who served us with genuine, efficient, quality care, who went above and beyond for us as he always made sure we were looked after even though the restaurant was quite understaffed( he was the only service staff on the floor as a hostess and waiter taking our orders) he handled multi- tasking like a real pro it was incredible watching the process and he is definitely a 5 star service staff and should be hired as a manager as he knows how to transitions from taking orders, serving drinks, pouring water into your glass while taking new customers at the front area as well as serve everyone else on the floor..talk about smooth service.
But unfortunately the bad news is the most important menu item was not available for our charcuterie board order since Stock and Supply didn't have enough stock and supply.
So unfortunately 1 stars off for that since Brie cheese is a BIG deal and a "must" be item on any charcuterie board prepared for us.
We enjoyed the generosity of sweet pickles, pickled cauliflower, and olives but overall we would of preferred that we didn't have to request for more toasted bread that the service staff ( raven and the chef in the back kitchen) went above and beyond to prepare well after the fact last call for food was already over.
Although we aren't much of a sweet pickle and sour cauliflower fan it blended quite well with some of other delicacies we consumed but our palette missed Brie cheese and the was hoping for a bigger slab of goat cheese instead of tiny crumbled peices in a baked pan of sweet fig jam.
When it comes to a charcuterie boards I do have high expectations espiecally if the restaurant is almost at 5 stars and presentation on the website of photos looks very appealing to my pallet .
Therefore, I was expecting 5 flavors (sweet, savory, sour, smokey and spicy) and 5 textures ( soft, warm, crispy, smooth, and cool) but I only received 3 flavors out of the 5 (mostly sweet, sour, and salty). Also I wasn't impressed with the smoked salmon I wasn't expecting the salmon to be out of can and smooched in mayonnaise. So another 1 star off.
Presentation was very rushed so another star off since I felt the spread wasn't delicately handled with care as it looked like it was rushed out of the kitchen..but because service was awesome I'm leaving my overall experience at 3 stars.
I admit I had high expectations so i could say...WOW! I LOOOVVED IT and overall it was good..hopefully in the future the charcuterie boards at Stock and Supply will be improved and one day be considered THE TOP BEST charcuterie board in Canada but perhaps I'm too high maintenance.
Rant over.
P.S I love Brie cheese very much and I missed...
Read moreAfter all the walking during the full day tour to Whistler we were ready for an exquisite and delicious dinner - we found it in our own hotel, at Stock & Supply restaurant!
Even though the restaurant appeared to be understaffed we were promptly seated and served at very attentive manner. Our water glasses were constantly refilled as if it was magic.
We ordered a board for two and a plate of seared BC salmon and couscous to share. Our waiter, Gorden, took an excellent care of us giving suggestions on the food, the ingredients and meal sizes. Both plates were very artistically presented and very tasteful.
We were diving in the name of “research” and exploring every ingredient on the board, that shows how creative the chef was! On the board there were beetroot humus, three varieties of olives, various pickled vegetables, fired Brie with blackberry jam and a silky smooth appetizer of cold smocked salmon and creamy salad with a hint of fresh dill and a drop of colorful orangey-red masago with a bit of spring onion. The lemon cream cheese spread was an excellent companion to the coarse grilled fresh sourdough bread and water crackers. The salmon was beautifully grilled to its full potential and presented a very full mouth-watering taste of a fatty fish accompanied by steamed garden carrots and curry couscous with a splash of green peas color. As Gorden told us we had almost 2.5 portions for two hungry people and we were more than satisfied.
We ended our dinner with a hot Earl Grey tea with a foamy cream. With such wonderful meal we had no room for dessert. Our overall experience and taste went beyond our expectations! Would recommend it 10 out of...
Read moreThis restaurant came up when we googled "Vancouver Best Brunch" so we definitely went in with high expectations.
The décor and ambiance are that of a hotel restaurant, which is exactly what this is. It had an 85" TV showing WWE highlights at 11 AM on a Sunday. The booths and tables were dated and the artwork was nothing special.
The service we had was unfortunately not great. Not only did we feel rushed to leave when there were dozens of tables available, but it seemed like our server was intentionally pouring our glasses of water to booby-trap levels where even the slightest movement would have them spill over.
The food itself wasn't terrible, but the descriptions on the menu don't really give you a lot to envision, nor do they include details of all the items that will be served. The plating was a definite high point as the food looks outstanding as it's served. I personally had the chopped salmon bagel, and it was fine, it just wasn't something that I would go out of my way to order again for $24. The potatoes were well-seasoned but too fried to feel healthy. I ordered an Iced Chai, and perhaps it was because it wasn't a menu item but what I got was far from what I was hoping for; it...
