Review of Mount Everest Restaurant

☆☆☆☆☆ (5/5)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mount Everest Restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! Nestled in a cozy location with stunning views, the restaurant excels in creating an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and adventurous.

Ambiance: The decor pays homage to the Himalayan mountains, with beautiful artwork, soft lighting, and comfortable seating. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.

Service: From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured we felt taken care of throughout our meal. It’s evident that customer service is a priority at Mount Everest.

Food: The menu features a diverse selection of Nepalese and Indian cuisine, which is a delightful treat for the palate. We started with the momos (dumplings), which were perfectly steamed and packed with flavor. For the main course, I opted for the chicken tikka masala, and it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the portion sizes were generous. My dining companion ordered the vegetarian thali, which was equally impressive, showcasing a variety of dishes that were both colorful and delicious.

Desserts: We couldn’t resist trying the traditional kulfi for dessert, and it did not disappoint! The creamy texture and rich flavors were the perfect ending to our meal.

Overall Experience: Mount Everest Restaurant truly exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone in the area. I can’t wait to return and try more dishes from their extensive menu. If you’re looking for authentic Himalayan flavors and a memorable dining experience, look no further than Mount...

Some of the best SE Asian food I've ever had, hands down! And its HALAL! As with any desi restaurant, you don't go for the fantastic customer service. If you do, you'll be greatly disappointed. You go to these places for their complex flavors and masterfully crafted dishes. First thing you see walking up is the large Halal sign (Halal status confirmed by staff) and probably a long line of people out the door. Seeing a line like that is a great sign! The locals know what's up. We ordered mango lassi, beef samosa, tandoori chicken wings, chicken tikka masala, steamed rice, and garlic naan. The server came by with some cauliflower soup to start the meal. I can't say enough great things about how tasty the food was. Cauliflower soup was solid. Mango lassi was on point. Beef samosa, although very tasty, was dry. The chutney they gave on the side did compliment very well. chicken wings are a must-order fusion. A great way to judge the quality of a SE Asian restaurant is by how well they execute chicken tikka masala. I would put their chicken tikka masala in my top 3 CTM's I've ever had in my life, It's that good. Paired with either garlic naan or plain rice is a must. Don't be afraid to put down the knife and fork and dig in with your hands. I promise the food will taste better when you do. For those of you who cant... handle the spice... the server gives you an option for spice level for your main dishes so not to worry. There's tons more options on the menu to order including dumplings which I saw the lady in the back making the fresh! Whether you're looking to try Indian food for the first time or you're looking for a spot to remind you of home/mom's cooking, come check this place out! A true hidden gem...

So I ordered the tikka masala and a garlic and onion naan to go. It came with a side of rice. Unfortunately I did not recieve any utensils or napkins in my bag so I ate the naan by hand. It was quiet as I came at 11am and one table was being waited with one house staff so i grabbed my bag and left.

The food was delicious. There were chunks of marinated chicken, vegetables, and spices, you can even see whole chilli peppers in the photo. The container was filled to the lid so I knew I was going to get fed. The onion naan was loaded with onion, herbs, and spices to the point where I just let it fall into the sauce for added complexity.

For $25 this definitely filled me up. The food was great, but the spice level... let's talk about that.

I'm no stranger to spicy food, but as a white guy I know my limitations. I ordered this in a medium as it was my first time eating here and I wasn't sure what their definition of hot was. This was definitely on the hott++ side. My eyes were watering by the end and my tongue has lost all sensation 30 minutes later. My stomach is screaming at me "Why would you do this!" So I know I will pay for it later.

Honestly there were no regrets, I forgot to ask for cutlery before I left so that was on my part. I don't think I could have comfortably enjoyed my food had it been any spicier. The masala was earthy, creamy, and I could taste individual spices and vegetables at times. It wasn't some ground up slurry with butter+milk. The whole chillis were probably a bit over the top, but I ate them anyways cause mama didn't raise no fool.

It was delicious nonetheless and I highly recommend. Would almost...

There was a lot of promise when we sat down at Mount Everest Kitchen & Grill. The place was packed, the aroma was lovely, and the menu looked excellent. We decided to order the chili momos, spicy chicken biryani, and a ginger ale. The momos were actually quite lovely, the tone was set, we were looking forward to the biryani. And the ginger ale. A ginger ale which never arrived (though it was on the receipt). The biryani... Was bad. We asked for spicy but were advised to go medium since their spice levels were supposed to be quite hot. While the biryani's smell was nice, it was absolutely devoid of flavour. It basically tasted like lightly grilled, lightly seasoned chicken and mostly white basmati rice. It was, by far, the most bland biryani either of us have ever had. We didn't end up having very much of it, and after some debate, didn't even get it packed to go since we knew we'd never bother getting to it later - why waste extraneous packaging and also food. That dish, alongside pretty mediocre service left us pretty deflated. It isn't a bad place, but definitely don't get the biryani, and maybe don't order ginger ale. The momos were nice though, they brought the whole experience up a point. FWIW they also didn't charge us for the ginger ale when we pointed out the discrepancy.
