I went here as part of a conference event. So we only took up the 2nd floor. We didn't use the 1st floor so this review isn't really 100% accurate lol. The 2nd floor was quite private and we were hidden from the 1st floor sight though we could see them. It was nice. The only thing is that it's too dark! I couldn't see anyone or anything. Heck, I couldn't even see my food LOL. The staff there were amazing. Dave the bartender was so nice and even gave a complimentary drink when he knew it was my 1st time drinking. The other staff were amazing. They looked stressed, especially that one guy clearing the tables and giving food. But they were all very polite. The food was very good. They had mac and cheese, sliders, falafel?, Pizza, and some french looking appetizers. It was pretty salty but nonetheless good. They even had food warmers which was a nice touch. The washrooms were cool, and had a brewery/dock kind of theme. Very artistic!

I had an amazing time! The live music was fantastic and really added to the great vibe of the place. I couldn't help but tap my feet and dance along to the music. The food was also delicious - the nachos were amazing, the flatbread was good and the cheese board was tasty. The overall atmosphere of the pub was just right, it had a really good vibe. Overall, I would highly recommend Portside Pub to anyone looking for a fun night out with great live music and delicious food. The nachos were especially outstanding, but the flatbread and cheese board were also really good. The atmosphere is just right, making it a perfect spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a great time.

Cozy cellar pub. Low ceiling, lots of wood, some tables, lots of standing at the bar or standing tables. Small food menu but good food and good beer selection. The garlic fingers' description is misleading. We thought it was garlic cheese sticks but it was cheesy garlic bread. See photo. It was delicious though. We took advantage of the oyster special; they were fresh and good. Especially with the horseradish. The lobster bisque was okay but the fennel and pepper were a bit overpowering. It was actually a bit more carrot soup with lobster. All in all, we would go again.

I paid 60 dollars for my girlfriend and I to get in and I couldn't even wait for an uber to get home because the stupid security guard closed the umbrella and deliberately got my girlfriend, her friend and me wet. We literally weren't rude to any of the staff and they didn't treat us very well, but when we entered they greeted our friend with a comment of "you're coming with these Latinos" and when we left they got us all wet on purpose just because their Asian security guard (I'm also Asian, something he didn't know) moved a stick so my girlfriend and her friend could get through and not get wet since they got their hair done for my girlfriend's birthday but this guy apparently got upset about this and decided to tell us to get lost and when we were just looking for shelter from the tremendous rain at the door of the place where we paid more than 100 dollars in covers and consumption to wait for 4 minutes while our uber arrived, he attacked us. This guy pushed me, insulted my girlfriend and her friend just for the simple fact. That as any gentleman would have done, I made way for two women so they wouldn't get wet. He was bothered by this, perhaps at home he didn't have a good education and they didn't teach him to be a gentleman. He decided to attack me and throw us out of the place, insulting us. What surprises me even more is the fact that we never disrespect anyone. When my friend is a teetotaler and I didn't drink because he works, and my girlfriend was the only one who drank because we were celebrating her birthday. The whole day was ruined by this...

I've passed by this place a few times and, having traveled the world and experienced some of the best nightlife scenes, I can instantly assess this place as a total joke without ever needing to go in. I've lived in cities renowned for their nightlife and have spent years indulging in some of the most debauched parties.

Just today, while passing by again, some lame a$$ bouncer tried to lure me in with, "we are packed to the rafters" - lol, did I even ask you anything?? I was NEVER interested and would appreciate it if you never speak to me again. You'd have to PAY me to attend this joke of a place.

I've done actual sailing on a private yacht in the Mediterranean, stopping by real joints and pubs near the marinas due to lack of other options. It's actually insulting that some lame a$$ bouncer would assume I would even be interested in this sad fake joke of a place :)) HAHAHA!

To those giving this place 5 out of 5, seriously, save up some cash and travel the world - you will definitely thank me.

I've read some reviews below about bouncers demanding bribes to get in - are you people really that stupid? LFMAO!! It would be much funnier if it wasn't so sad at the same time...

They would have to pay me A LOT to attend, but to those who were ever denied entry here, lol, sounds like you got the best...

Although I go to Portside for my Meetup group, the food was great just not the slider soo salty & gross! I favour the Female servers as they're ALWAYS polite even IF they had a bad day.

With that being said I attended my meetup at this place & this man with short stature had an attitude I said I'm apart of a meetup group & in a rude tone of voice he said "I'm talking to my co worker!" 😡 Ok but you could've been a bit more kinder I don't care if you had a bad day you DO NOT take it out on your customers! Without customers your business will fail!

I'm suprised they hired this "short" tempered balding man, considering he's wearing face piercings which I KNOW isn't ALLOWED especially around food!

Plus face piercings are pure rubbish & just trashy as hell! Also saw the short tempered man going on his phone during work, you shouldn't go on your phone even if there's not alot of people! Lazy!

I work around food & you're NOT allowed to have ANY type of piercings just shows this place does NOT care about Food Safety might have to report this establishment to Work Safe BC if they keep handling their food like this!

I wouldn't be surprised if the staff spat into your food or drinks if you didn't tip them, male staff needs to be more considerate around guests with...
