My twin sister and I came across this AMAZING place last evening and we are so very grateful for our truly unforgettable experience! The ice cream and chocolate and treats are all absolutely delicious and also the kindest people working there were so lovely, warm, friendly and made us feel so cherished as customers even putting our name personalized on our receipt! We got the Cotton Candy ice cream cones and they were not only beautiful works of art visually but they also were so delicious! The chocolate is the highest quality and also the environment in the store is absolutely beautiful, modern, and clean and incredible to sit down and enjoy a sweet treat with your loved one! A big thank you to the wonderful owners who we had the gift of meeting for opening and creating this amazing establishment in Gastown!! I took my daughter and her friend to Chocolats Favoris in Gastown today, and we were glad we made the trek. The shop—still fairly new—is primarily a chocolate boutique, but it features a tempting ice cream and parfait section tucked inside.

We each ordered a small vanilla soft serve dipped in dark chocolate, with a few custom toppings. The girls went for waffle cones with one of them adding extra chocolate inside the cone, while I stuck with the regular cone.

Now, I’ll admit: I’m a bit of a chocolate snob. But I was pleasantly surprised by the dark chocolate coating—rich, thick, and not overly sweet. It tasted like biting into a proper dark chocolate bar wrapped around a swirl of vanilla. For some, the cones might lean too sweet (especially with milk chocolate), but the dark version hit the mark for me.

That said, the vanilla base was a bit too rich for my liking—others might love it, but I prefer a lighter finish. Despite ordering the “small,” the cones were generously sized and left us satisfied.

My only real gripe? The toppings were underwhelming for the extra charge: a sprinkling of chocolate bits and exactly three mini chocolate brownies. When one of mine tumbled off, the woman behind the counter kindly replaced it without hesitation—kudos to her for the great service.

💸 $31 for three small cones with toppings definitely puts this on the indulgent end of the treat spectrum. But considering the quality of the chocolate and the overall experience, I’d say it’s worth it—as a once-in-a-while splurge or to impress a date who...

EDIT: I took my cousin here after the owners reached out and gave me the opportunity to retry and wow!! I got the same Kooky cone to compare the difference and this second one was way more acceptable in terms of toppings! My cousins also had no shortage of toppings. She gave it a 9/10, although she asked for a thin coat there was still chocolate that she couldn’t even try to bite through but had the thin coat been actually thin it would’ve been a 10! That cookie dough blitz was incredible - it’s safe to say I’ll never be going for a blizzard knowing this exists. We’re already planning our trip back! And will make sure to emphasize the thin layer so she can actually finish but the manager was LOVELY. Ice cream was DELICIOUS. I’ll be recommending this place to anyone! I wish I could buy that raspberry sorbet by the tub!!

I loved the location in Victoria but this location was a bit disappointing - at other locations the Kooky toppings are usually more, well kooky but $10 foe this S’mores Kooky gone and it came with barely any toppings and the staff only put toppings on one side :( I really wanted to love it because I’m otherwise a huge fan..
