$100+ in total. $30+ per person.
First time visiting Stock Room for happy hour at 5 pm on Thursday, Sep 25, 2025, and won't recommend it until they maintain professionalism and mutual respect. Was excited to try this until your disgruntled bartender [caucasian lady who behaves like she doesn't want to work for your company] keeps raising her voice at me for no reason when I asked for beer recommendations; "what beer do you want?!! Hazy or non-hazy?!... look at the menu!.." Your bartender also repeatedly interrupted my conversations with my colleagues almost every 15 minutes without saying "excuse me" until a different server took over. What kind of speak easy are you selling? My interest at any speak easy is to chill and speak with colleagues after a busy work day while also making sure the drink bill is reasonably large enough to give a business like yours the respect it deserves. Your management team should train your staff properly. I am not interested in paying over $100 for drinks and tip to tolerate your bartender's behavioral problems. I tolerated it anyways because my first visit is also my last visit. I don't think anyone is interested in this kind of experience.
Food & Cocktails: Good but not exceptional. 4 is generous. Example of 5 is Italian Kitchen because their espresso martini and old fashioned are very good and hard to replicate. The main problem is the service because there are many other lounges and pubs (Cardero's, Mahony's, Earls, Joe Fortes, Coast, etc.) that provide comparable or better quality drinks and food without giving customers attitude.
Service: What service? Explained above... In response to your comment, if you say that you have a different account of my experience, then you're implying that I have lied. Just because I said nothing until this review, doesn't mean your service is good (or my experience was misinterpreted). You have at least 10 more Google reviewers telling you that your team's service is unprofessional - all posted in the past year. You should take it seriously and coach your team. I recommend you check how Joe Fortes delivers reasonable customer service. Significantly better than your employee.
Atmosphere: Not a fan of a dark room and weak candlelights, but apparently it works for others. We have abundant clean electricity in our city so that your restaurant could install or turn on a few dimmed lights. I recommend you model off Cardero's, which has a sizeable lounge area intended to provided speak easy access and provides appropriate lighting. They're almost always fully booked every evening for both dinner and drinks because they're...
Read moreA couple months ago, me & my friend went out for a night together 2 days before Christmas. We had a great night, saw Christmas lights, went to a restaurant, and decided to end the wonderful night at a speakeasy. The Stockroom when we walked in had a very nice atmosphere, had a blend of the classic 1920s vibe with a modern twist. We took two seats at the bar. The drinks were pricey but we were willing to pay that for the atmosphere and service, little did we know the service would not only not be there, but be completely antagonistic to our very presence there. A bartender by the name of Luke introduced himself to us, in a very vulgar way, and responded to our drink inquires also in a very vulgar way. Anyone could clearly see the man was quite drunk, something that would not be expected on the job, especially relatively early in the night around 9-10 PM. The way he responded to our questions made my friend extremely uncomfortable, but we were willing to look the other way at this point. We were served our drinks, and the way we ordered it was heavily implied that we would be sharing each other's drink with each other. Mine was essentially whiskey on the rocks which costed upwards of $22, when we were told would be something much more exquisite. After a couple sour mouths, my friend told the bartender after many attempts to get his attention that drink was not enjoyable, his response was to put on the spot and question her judgenent by responding over and over again "that's not your drink," even though we explained we were sharing, to which he responded in a very snarky way "thank you for your feedback." After much protest, he made us a different drink, telling me as if he was belittling me in my choice "I know your type." The entire time making the drink, and afterwards for half an hour, giving us the cold shoulder, while talking drunkenly to other customers. The experience really bothered us, especially my friend, and he still talked crude to us when we were paying for the bill. Luke turned what what would have been a wonderful night into a massive let down. Two weeks later, I made 4 attempts to call the bar, and left them with a voicemail to tell them about our concerns, with no response to this day whatsoever. It saddens to me leave this review, but I don't see any other option...

We came here to celebrate my partner's birthday on a Wednesday night. I made a reservation online, with a note asking if it was okay to bring a cake- no one emailed/called me. Day of, I called the restaurant during their operational hours to ask if they would have space to store my ice cream cake in their freezer- straight to voicemail, no call back.
When we got there, I asked to store our cake in the freezer, and our server said they didn't have a freezer, and asked if anyone told me about the $25 cake fee. I said no, but that I had tried communicating with them and our server said "we don't have anyone working the phone" ... okay how is that my fault? Okay, $25- not the end of the world. Hmm no freezer? Odd, but okay, no problem we can eat the whole cake before dinner. Then she proceeded to say "We don't have plates, but I'll bring you trays, forks and a knife." Uhhh okay.. sure we can eat off a tray. The knife she brought us was a plastic knife - not sure how we could cut through an ice cream cake? We had to go out to the burger place to ask for a proper knife.
No storage, no lighting of the candle, no cutting of the cake, no plates, but still insisted on charging $25? Celebrated my birthday a few weeks ago at a much nicer place and cake fee was $10. I'm happy with paying the fee if we got any sort of service.
At the end of the night, I asked the bartender for the bill- not sure where the server was. The server sees me asking for the bill and comes rushing over saying we haven't added the cake fee on the bill yet. Thankfully, the lovely bartender said that it was okay, and the cake was on them, but unsure why the server was soooo adamant about the cake fee. It felt unprofessional, and she ruined the whole experience.
Unfortunate- cocktails are delicious and burgers are good. This place has been on my list for a long time and has the potential to be a really lovely place. Will not be returning and will be sharing this experience...
