Vera's Burger Shack — Restaurant in Vancouver

Well first and last time for myself to eat ar Vera’s Burger Shack on Main Street Vancouver . I only tried the fries ( I do this to taste the quality of oils used and to see if they care or know what they are doing . Sadly the fries were dripping in oil , I would label them more like potato bits or as we call them in the UK scrumps ( which is basically the tiny pieces left over after a night in the frier ! Believe me when I say these photos make them look almost edible ! Texture : soggy and limp ( need I say more ) Colour well they were various colours from almost opaque to a down right old grey look. Taste : This one baffles me , not sure where the sweetness comes from but its there along with the taste of cheap cooking oil that has not been changed frequently enough , nor have the fries/chips ( I shall call them this for lack of a more descriptive word) been cooked at the correct Temperature of oil 175c (347 degrees ) Conclusion : if they cook the chips/fries this way with such little regard for quality and presentation what do they do to the rest of their menu ! I had the Buffalo chicken burger which comes with blue cheese. I added fried onions, fried mushrooms , blackened sauce along with side of hot sauce, ketchup , fries and coke. The burger was v good in taste , chicken was good quality, medium sized portion, lettuce was fresh. They have something called veras sauce which was good, blue cheese was also good. I am happy I added the blackened spice which made the taste much better and lil on the spicier side. Fried mushrooms were v well done , fried onions were lil less in quantity. They must included peri peri fries in their menu coz peri peri spice is the IN THING these days. I wish there was an option to get bottomless fries like white spot coz it makes the meal filling. We're big fans of Vera's, but we will not be going back to the main street location. Showed up to pick up my order and the person behind the counter wasn't wearing their mask properly, over the mouth only. He then proceeded to take it off fully. When we took our order home, my partner's burger was almost completely raw in the middle. When we called to explain, the man on the phone proceeded with a rehearsed speech about steak cut burgers cooked to a certain temperature. Sure burgers should be a bit pink in the middle, but would you eat this?
