We came from out of town and stayed in the hotel that this restaurant was in. When we got there, we went down to ha e some lunch. We were greeted by a woman named Tanya, who was the only server in the place. She informed us to pick anywhere to sit. Being as there was only one other person in the place, we would assume the service would be quick. She took forever to come and take our drink order. We ordered a small pizza, an order of ravioli and a ceaser salad, and we all just wanted water to drink. Before she left to put the order in, she asked if we would like some bread to start. We said sure, as we thought it was complementary like most places. We finally get our order, eat out food, and wait for the bill. I did nit see the receipt as she still had it in her hand, paid with thr debit machine by tap (that's where I went wrong) and had to ask her 2 times for the receipt. I looked at the receipt, and for just those items, it was $93.79!! We were charged $14 for water... then I noticed a $10 charge for "open food." When we asked what that was she said it was for the bread. We informed her she probably should have told us the cost of water as we thought we were getting tap water, and we thought the bread was no charge. She then got rude with us and talked to us like we were stupid for not knowing they "didn't have tap water" and that we should of known it wasn't free as it was on the menu... We will never go back here, we didn't even go for the free next day breakfast the 26 of us that were staying there went next store to Gordon's dinner for breakfast.

The food service and atmosphere were excellent! I ordered the gnocchi and homemade tiramisu for lunch. The gnocchi felt like home and was super comforting - the perfect way to start my Boxing Day shopping. It was hot, fresh and arrived promptly. The Tiramisu was to die for - I forgot to take a picture because I was super excited to eat it!! It was super light, not overwhelmingly sweet and was a perfect sweet craving after a full meal. It’s also the ideal size to share on a date if you don’t have a sweet tooth but was a little something - chefs kiss. And ofcourse, the service was amazing! Alina took great care of us, and just knew the right things to recommend - excellent customer service!

It's a small restaurant located in a hotel. Service was friendly. The interior design is nice but quite outdated. Calamari alla Marinara The calamari were slightly overcooked, with a somewhat rubbery texture, but the broth and sauce smelled wonderful and tasted great. The garlic toast paired well with the calamari. Bistecca alla Griglia The 12 oz NY Angus striploin was cooked more than necessary for a proper medium-rare. The steak wasn’t tender and was overall below average. The grilled vegetables were mediocre as well. Conclusion: It’s one of the weakest restaurants in the York region within this price category.

Checked into the Hotel where this restaurant is located for a few hours before our flight home to the UK to repack, freshen up etc after a 2.5 week roadtrip. Walked into the Restaurant where there was no-one to be seen, diners or staff, just empty tables with tablecloths on. Checked at Reception if it was open and she said it should be. Went back in and a young woman appeared. We asked if it was open for food and she said she wasn't sure as they were hosting a party downstairs but she'd check. She came back and said they could accommodate us. She gave us menus, we looked at them and decided on the same dish Penne Bolognese for speed. I went up to the bar and she said she would send someone out to take our order. I said we only had a short timeframe for this meal as we were driving to the airport soon to fly home to the UK. I don't think she understood this. I asked if she could take our order which she begrudgingly did ! I also asked for 2 small draught beers. She said they didn't do small draught beers only large ones ?! 🤔. My Husband said that he'd have a glass of water instead of a large beer as he was driving. I said, no, bring the large beer and 2 glasses please. I could partially see her behind the bar doing the drinks when she should have really gone into the kitchen to place the order due to our time restraints. She came with the drinks, a large beer and a small glass of water ! We drank the water then poured a small glass of beer from the large one into the small glass. Unfortunately we spilt a bit down the glasses. I happened to have 2 thin napkins in my bag so we used them as 'coasters' so as not to stain the white linen tablecloth. She brought the food out, which was in very large pasta bowls. I moved my pint glass and 'coaster' away to make room for the bowl and, whoosh, it toppled over all over the table completely emptying the glass all over the tablecloth ! She asked if we wanted to move tables ? of course we did ! While I was setting the glass upright again I felt a bump on the table, lifted the tablecloth up and saw that our table was 2 small ones pushed together, joining at different heights ! I'd placed my glass on this joint not knowing what lay beneath. I asked if she was going to replace my drink and she said, you want another one ? No, I said are you going to replace it due to the problem with the table ? She said, no, your glass wasn't there, it was there, pointing to the spot where it was before I moved it to accommodate the large pasta bowl, insisting it was my fault. She said it fell off the napkin which we were using as coasters ! How CAN a half full pint of beer fall OFF a thin napkin ?! 🤔 She didn't come back with another drink for me ! The food wasn't bad but completely spoiled anyway due to this incident. We asked for the bill, attempted to pay with my card which was declined twice, the receipts of which I've kept, just in case. My Husband paid with his card. On leaving I said that she needed to get that table(s) sorted which she said she would ! obviously concurring that there was a problem. The large beer was still on the bill. We didn't have time to argue the toss ! Needless to say, no tip was left ! Not a pleasant experience before facing a long flight home and what bad customer service. Even if it had been my fault you would have expected any decent establisment to bring another drink following an accidental spillage ?! Very poor customer service in our view. PS: Apologies for...

Bad undercooked food Rude staff I bought the sausage and egg breakfast and I very much regretted it. I) the sausages looked boiled and tasted undercooked which checks out since I got diarrhea later 2) the eggs were rubbery and 3) the 'hashbrowns' were...you know those cheap frozen shoestring fries? Those but square. Go to the Diner or the Bakery down the street for breakfast I was too turned off to try the supper after that despite the hotel giving out 20% off coupons Rude Staff Full story: We stayed at the hotel which included vouchers for breakfast at this restaurant. We didn't realize when we went in that if you wanted something other than toast or cereal you have to pay. We were hungry so my roommate and I both decided to pay for the hot food, but since we thought it was going to be free we hadn't brought our wallets, so she went back to the room to get them while we were waiting for our orders to arrive. So my roommate comes back and the wait staff at the door stops her. My roommate explains how she went to get our wallets, she's clearly holding two purses, and I, who hasn't left the table, confirm that that's what's going on. Mind you, this same lady took our vouchers and saw her come in and leave 2 minutes earlier. This lady stared at me and accuses me of giving a voucher to a different person. Sorry lady but no one is going through that much trouble for corn flakes and toast that takes 20mins to brown. I explain again that, no, we weren't aware that the hot food cost extra so she went back to get our wallets. She stares at me like I'm some scam artist and goes back to he post by the door I wish we had told her 'fine' and left, leaving her to deal with 2 unpaid for meals being delivered to an empty table when they eventually came out - would have saved my taste buds some strife. Seriously, it's one thing for the free part of the breakfast to suck but when the paid for part is terrible...
