Having moved to Alberta in 2000, a lot of the restaurants that I used to enjoy are either under new management or no longer available... so I had to try a new place for Chinese take-out.
Based on reviews, and the photos on their website we chose to try the Jade Asian Kitchen - everyone loved this meal.
We ordered the dinner for six, and I added the Wor Wonton Soup (craving) and the battered Calamari. Spring Rolls - vegetarian (wife loved them). Sweet & Sour Pork - very good. Nice flavor and sauce. Highly recommend. Sesame Chicken - delicious! Beef and Broccoli - cooked perfectly! Calamari - had to fight my family to get my share, very good! Rice - hey it's rice, but we had very little left over so it must have been pretty good! Chicken Chow Mein - same as above, it was great! Battered Shrimp - small portions, but tasted great..... maybe my wife grabbed too many??? I only got one. Chop Suey (veggie) - wife also loved this! (I prefer a Beef Chop Suey). Wor Wonton - great mix of ingredients, wontons were good, shrimp, chicken and crisp veggies - added soy sauce for flavor. This bowl is large, really that could have been a meal by itself.
The take out packages didn't leak, everything was packaged great, nothing was forgotten.
Everyone ate way too much food, and we all loved it! Best news: there was still a ton of leftovers after 6 people ate including two teenage boys!
Great value and Great Food!
If you are in Vernon and craving Asian Food - I highly recommend you try this place!
I can't wait to try some single dishes! I will certainly be back - my family all agrees that this is a 5 star Asian Restaurant! Thanks for the great...
Read moreWe chanced on this when we were in Vernon on October 3. We had planned on Sushi but it was after the lunch hour and the place was closed. First, the restaurant is very, very clean and new. Second, the server was friendly and helpful. We had the dinner for two, sweet and sour pork, chicken chow mien and beef chop suey, with two spring rolls each. They had egg rolls on the menu and that's not that common these days, with spring rolls easier for the food distributors to make and so few people making these things in house. so I ordered one. This review is getting a little long, but suffice to say the food was excellent and the portions over the top. But the surprise was the egg roll. It is made in house and is perfection. We had enough left over for dinner when we got home and a lunch the next day for me. You can tell it was a family run restaurant because there were two sweet children playing together in the back booth. We are going to Vernon tomorrow to the farmers market and taking our dog to BX park. Somewhere in there we are going back here. :-) We went back today (October 9) and had some sichuan chicken, Singapore noodles hot and sour soup and, of course, and egg...
Read moreYesterday I dined here with a close friend. We had the California Cone, Mango Avocado Roll, Avocado Cone, and my personal highlight, the Spicy Jalapeño Roll.
We paid 38 bucks before tip on our meal altogether (we drank water--no sodas).
The Spicy Jalapeño rolls are 14.99 but eight pieces will leave you full.
One side of the menu is Chinese food and the other side of the menu is Japanese food. Many families are usually split between liking Japanese or Chinese food so it is perfect Vernon finally has a restaurant which offers both under one roof at top quality.
We originally ordered an avocado cone and a california cone, but she misheard us and brought avocado maki and california rolls by accident. We corrected her on the avocado maki which was replaced within seconds, but didn't correct her on the california rolls because it looked delicious anyway.
Comfortable booths for sitting and there's a TV behind the last booth.
The waitress was very quick to refill my water.
Highly recommend! 5/5. We will come here again.
I highly...
