Woah, this place just felt (and tasted) like home! As a mexican living in Canada, we often get questions of where to find authentic mexican food… so I am happy to let you know that this is THE place. The food is delicious, authentic home-made style, and it brought me back fond memories of meals with family and friends back in Guadalajara, Mexico. You can taste the care and love they put to their menu in every bite. We had the pleasure of chatting with both owners. They are amazing, kind, hard-working, and care a lot about the people and community they serve. They make everyone feel welcome, and offer a friendly and easy-going vibe. If you have read this far, just try it. You won’t regret it. And if you are not into mexican food (which could also be true), at least you will get the experience we mexicans often miss while away from home: having a tasty home-made meal made by your mother, while sharing that moment with friends and family.

Food and service was very good, colourful and simple decor but comfortable. Some suggestions I would make if the operators are interested. Ask and serve tap water so the customers have a drink while waiting and if food is spicy. Have a drink menu ( for pop or other drinks) otherwise it is unclear what you have and how much they cost. ( I understand you are waiting for a liquor license) Offer chips and dips for sale ( a small bowl was free with the meal) So chips and guacamole or other dips… appetizers and a money maker. Rice and beans as side dishes also brings in revenue and adds to the dining options, so might consider this as well. Just suggestions so you do well here in town because overall the food is really good.

Antojitos Guadalajara was my 212th eatery in Vernon on my quest to eat at every eatery in town. I am glad this family was finally able to open up downtown. Ten years ago all we had for Mexican food is Los Huesos. Now we've got 3 other fast food chains, a Taco food truck, and now we have this restaurant. I tried gorditas and a Pepsi. I had never eaten a gordita. I paid $20.70 after tax and a 15 percent tip. They also have a big Mexican sandwich dish I want to try next time. They are still setting things up as they just opened a couple days ago (menus and napkins on tables, etc). I ate all of my food. This place gets my approval. I only have Sparkling Hill and BNA before I have completed all 216 restaurants in town.

This was our second time having lunch here and it's safe to say we will continue to return! Both times we have dined in with friends visiting from out of town and they have loved it too. The authentic Mexican food is amazing, the family running the restaurant are so kind and thoughtful, and the portions are generous and good value.

Both times we've eaten here we have had 4 adults and 4 children (ages 4 and under) in our party and they could easily accommodate us, plus had high chairs & booster seats available. They even offered to make the kids quesadillas right away so the children could eat first, which was so thoughtful and much appreciated! Chips and salsa and various spicy sauces, chili oil, etc are provided on the tables which were great to snack on while waiting for our entrées and added some amazing spice to the tacos I ordered. They have a drink menu with a great selection of drinks and many delicious food choices (the perfect amount of options so as to not be overwhelmed by choice, but also you will want to try everything because it all sounds so good!)

Highly recommend checking out and supporting this wonderful family-run restaurant! You will not be...
