The good reviews are very, very misleading. DO NOT spend your money here. So many disappointing factors with our pickup order that I had to share my experience.

My pickup order was missing the rice (which is essential to eat the main dishes), and I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to pick it up. I had expressed my frustration with the inconvenience cause by their mistake and was told "sorry- ya that sucks". No accountability or customer service for their mistake. They also don't answer their phone, so if there is anything wrong with your order, you'll have to go back to the restaurant. I was also given the wrong amount of change back by $20, which I originally thought was an honest mistake (not so sure now 🤔)

The food was way, way too spicy. The flavor was good but was almost ruined by the spice level. We had ordered 3 dishes as mild, but it was so spicy that it was nearly inedible. The coconut rice was old and mixed with other old rice. The naan bread was the worst we've ever had.

I had seen a few bad reviews before I had ordered, but I thought I'll give it a try anyways. Do not make the same...

We were searching for a good curry on our recent visit to Vernon, B.C. Having driven from Calgary that day, we were tiered, and just wanted some really good food, and boyo did we ever luck out finding Shahi Pakwan on 43rd Ave! As soon as we drove up and saw the lovely lights strung along the porch of an old-style house-turned-homey-restaurant, we knew we were in the right place for us that night.

As we walked inside, the owners were their to great us and introduce us to their extensive menu of delicious Pakistani food - which was our first time trying, actually, as we usually go East Indian. And to be honest, the Lamb Biryani, especially was the best we've ever had!

We highly recommend this quirky restaurant with an incredibly unique decor of old world and new. The art on the walls is also exquisite - especially the portrait of the peacock :)

Next time you're in Vernon, do yourself a favour and visit this lovely little family-run restaurant with V good food. You won't be disappointed + they have an extensive buffet...
