Already, I was very surprised to see that there were no children, my son was the only one! I do the little chef with my son, it was good but we were a little disappointed, I expected much more impressive considering the price charged (around $450/500 all inclusive for 2)… I am French and although we do not find this kind of dishes Here in Victoria, the bouillabaisse and the gratin dauphinois or the crème brûlée (dishes we had that evening) are great classics of French cuisine but we were not impressed for all that, it was for us, connoisseurs of this cuisine, a good meal correct but nothing more... As for the animation of the little chef, there too, we were very disappointed, because the little cartoon that was walking around on our plates only appeared a few minutes just before each dish. As we had four courses, the little chef appeared either 4×2 or 3 minutes or about 15 min in total of our evening on our table! In between, nothing was happening, I was expecting more storytelling and awesome stuff. Finally we were seated at a table of four and two other people joined our table, since there were only two of us, I didn't really appreciate being near people I didn't know!!! I was happy to see and do this concept once, I ate properly, but it did not impress me to the point of wanting to try this experience again, a second time and even less, knowing that I will be installed in the same table as other...
Read moreMeh. Honestly I don't see all the hype about the food nor the atmosphere. The service from the host is great, he is doing a great job getting everyone excited and ready, no complaints about that at all. My issue was the quality of the dishes/food and the projection.
Sure it is a set menu, but the food is just meh, they aren't really authentic. The Spain menu is clearly more Italian than Spanish, the Italian dish had garnished pasta with greens on top, in what world? And the french fries in the french dish... well sigh.. not needed, couldn't you do fancy mash potatoes instead?
With regards to the media show presentation of Le Petif chef is terrible, super pixelated art, the room is not dark enough to view it and if you come as a pair, the sitting is arranged so they will likely make you sit with another couple or person (why?...)
The language used of the petit chefs particularly the Italian and Spanish one are horribly translated. The Spanish yells bad words in Spanish: "Estupido" and "Cabrón" (if you know, you know this is bad) which happens during the Japanese dessert presentation.
What this is good for? A kids experience. Bring your kids, they surely will have fun no doubt about that.
Value? Not worth it. Even the...

the food itself was incredible. each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. the visuals that accompanied each course made the meal interactive and exciting. with travis's top-tier service and the flawless food, le petit chef is a must-visit for anyone in victoria.
even the kids' menu at le petit chef is impressive, offering dishes that are not only kid-friendly but also deliciously crafted. my personal favorite from the menu was the caesar salad, which came with real bacon bits that added an amazing crunch and rich flavor. it was so fresh and flavorful that it could easily rival the adult options. the attention to detail, even in the kids’ dishes, shows the level of care put into every aspect of the...
