My colleague and I often sneak out of work for a bite to eat, and we always find ourselves drawn back to this amazing spot. We tend to show up at odd hours and always request to sit at the bar—it’s become our go-to tradition. Jimmy, the owner, never fails to make our experience exceptional. His rolls are hands-down some of the best we’ve ever had, and they’re completely unique to this location. You can tell he puts care and expertise into every dish he serves. Eriko’s service is nothing short of outstanding. She’s quick, attentive, and has a way of making you feel like the most important guest in the room. She ensures that we’re comfortable and well looked after every time, which really elevates the whole dining experience. If you’re looking for a place with incredible food, a welcoming atmosphere, and staff who truly go above and beyond, this is the spot. Can’t recommend it enough!

The whole deal! To passer by this hole in the wall provides a whole meal for a good deal. Despite lower prices, food is of great quality. This was one of the cheaper chirashi in town. Despite that I got three pieces of tuna, three sockeye salmon, three tai, two hokkagai, two scallops and one ika with delicious correctly done rice. There were two tomago that were passible but could have been better. Regardless, the food was great so I had to order more. A negitoro maki and two ikura nigari. Maki seems to be the similar price as other restaurants. The nigari is cheaper than the 5 star restaurants but just as good. Some come here! It's often busy but if you're by yourself cozy up to the bar, watch the chefs in action and have a chat with the servers. Even if it was busy they still provided time to chat.

I’ve ordered from here a few times and it’s always been decent which for sushi in Victoria is amazing. However, this time was appalling. The rolls were barely rolled and fell apart as I picked them up, one the rolls wasn’t even closed at all. The agadashi tofu was inedible. I’m a tofu lover and I could not eat past a bite. It infuriates me that this restaurant charges $17 dollars for a roll and it’s not even rolled correctly. Also, I ordered the rainbow roll which is just a California roll with sashimi on top, the roll had tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) inside?? It wasn’t listed as an additional ingredient so that’s a hazard. Additionally, the yam tempura roll tasted like fish. All in all a wildly disappointing meal that taught me to stop ordering sushi in Victoria.

i am not big on writing reviews, but thought id share mine and my many friend+ coworkers experiences. As Victoria does not have many good sushi restaurants which strikes me kind of weird being on an Island with an easy access to fresh seafood. But unfortunately good sushi chefs do not live in these waters. this place is an exception, the food is hands down the best authentic sushi in town, but this being said i must warn you to NEVER BRING A DATE to this place, as the service staff absolutely kills the positives of this place. The serving staff is very, very rude. unsanitary (make the place look like a s"""hole), 0 manners. and give you a stinky look when you tip them 20. for absolutely terrible service (making you look like a cheapo and a bad human being, who doesn't even tip). after looking down at the debit receipt, then looking up at me with a death glare, and storming off without saying "thank you". made me and my girlfriend look...
