Can't help noticing prices sign posted on glass sliding door is in chinese. All day long staff transfering goods on mobile dolly from outside to instore at the inconvenience of customers. Side walks are constantly packed & lined up with goods on the ground. At least 3 shop lengths. DON'T buy marked down fresh refrigerated noodles as its to close to best before date. Did this twice result was bad experiences. They turn bad in 1-2 days had to throw outside. Not worth it. Btw markdown differences is not that great either!! What can you say about Fisgard market? This jam-packed little Asian grocer that spills right out into the sidewalk has been a stapled at Chinatown in Victoria for decades. I believe it was called something else previously, maybe Quonley's? But I digress, if you can't find it here, you probably can't find it anywhere in Victoria. They have a great selection of Asian vegetables all out in the sidewalk. An amazing selection of sauces, spices, noodles, rices and cooking compliments. They have wrappers, snacks, Filipino food, Japanese food, Chinese food items. Some of the shelves look like they're so heavy they're going to just explode onto the floor. I say give this place a try, you may not get a smile from anyone and you may have to duck a few times as people fly past you with their hand trucks full of grocery items being unloaded from trucks right out front. Visited this store for the first time since new ownership took over. I noticed some changes, and not for the better. The sidewalk produce stand was poorly supplied, and the quality of the produce was highly variable. The prices have definitely been adjusted upward. Inside the store the staple stock seems to be short in many areas. The jarred items have hand-written price tags placed over the originals, and the increases are significant. Overall, this usually messy, untidy store is now quite dirty as well. I am quite disappointed to make these observations. This store was at one time a favourite destination for Asian food items, but the price gouging and overall uncleanliness have removed the store from my "favourites" list. I cannot...
