Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in West Vancouver

Never go to this chipotle ever. Avoid at all costs. The staff are the most incompetent and rude people I have ever encountered. Like genuinely in shock how they got hired. Management has changed recently and it shows since this establishment used to be well run. First off my friend orders a bowl and the employee didn’t know what a burrito bowl was? Like if it’s your first shift chipotle serves 3 items I don’t know how somehow could be so daft. The staff should have been trained properly before serving customers because it’s honestly embarrassing how clueless they are. I then ask for a burrito with brown rice, they proceed to put white rice on. I said that I wanted the other one and she blankly stared at me and tried to move on with only half a spoonful of white rice on my burrito. Finally another employee says to mix the rices but then I ask for barbacoa and they said they’re out. I then see an entire new batch being poured in the back and ask if I can have that. They reluctantly agreed but then only gave my friend one third of a portion of barbacoa. When my friend asked for more since it was way below a normal portion size, they blankly stared at her and said it would cost extra. I also told the staff I didn’t want lettuce and they proceeded to put lettuce on and get mad when I said they messed up and angrily took it off. I also said I wanted a drink and they fully forgot and had to ask multiple times. When checking out the staff messed up both our orders and almost overcharged my friend by charging for guacamole when she didn’t even order it. Earlier this evening, I went to get a Burrito at the Park Royal location. What I experienced was disturbing and probably in violation of health and safety standards.

The entire seating area was filthy. There wasn't one seating area that wasn't dirty with the food from previous customers or an area of the floor that wasn't covered with litter or liquid. I've attached some pics to show what I mean, but it doesn't convey the state of your restaurant. Incidentally, the same was the case for the prep area.

When I asked the staff to clean a table, they seemed confused at first. Then one of the women finally went to the side and took a dirty cloth out of a bucket and came over and wiped one table for me without using any cleaning agent. She left every other table dirty.

Then one of your male staff (he is in one of the pictures) came back in with another male colleague and they went to wash their hands. The guy literally took a few drops of water on his fingers, shook his hand and then proceeded to go to work touching food. Later, he was standing by the cash picking his teeth with his fingers.

It wasn't so long ago that restaurants were bending over backwards to keep their locations sparkling clean because of COVID. Please take steps to implement frequent cleaning protocols in your restaurant. It isn't like staff don't have time. There were 5 staff standing around that could have easily taken a few minutes to wipe down the tables and chairs with a cleaning agent, pick up garbage and sweep the floors.

Place is filthy. Went tonight and I’m feeling a bit queasy after eating there. Ordered a bowl with chicken. The employee scaped up the remnants of meat from the nearly empty vat of chicken. I ask if the tiny amount of leftover chicken was all that came with the bowl. The worker than went to the back and scooped up chicken from an unknown source.

I noticed that the work station was extremely dirty. Leftover food was left down the entire line with cross contamination between the vats of toppings.

I also ordered a drink. Everything came out to 17 bucks. I go to fill up my drink at the soda fountain. No ice. I take a sip and the cola dispensed was warm as urine.

I informed a worker who said there was no more ice in the machine but gave me a cup of ice from the back.

All of the tables in the establishment were filthy and it was apparent that they had not been cleaned in awhile.

I ate my bowl and went to dispose of my food container.

As I walked up to the trash bin I noticed it was overflowing with refuse and was emitting a foul rotting odour. That too had not been changed in some time. I left my food container on top of the unstable heap and left.

Shortly after leaving I felt like vomiting.

The staff were friendly. However, there were approximately 5 people working and another having a meal. With that many people working, one of them should devote some time on cleaning up the place.

As these are hard times, I feel a bit uneasy giving my hard earned money to a business that that treats customers like slopping sustenance at swine. Won’t...
