Café Olimpico - Westmount — Restaurant in Westmount

They don't really let you work here with your laptop and play on speaker when it's busy (and super loud already lol). Kind of wish it was clearly stated, got kicked out in the middle of my work session Replying to their response: They were indeed polite, but the rest is not accurate. I wasn’t playing music, I played 2 videos for about 3 min each that I needed to watch for work before they came and talked to me. I wasn’t using two tables, my husband was using one and I was using another (tables are just big enough to fit a 15” laptop). They also did ask me to leave stating that they don’t want people to camp with their laptops here and if there is no more space for other customers to kindly leave (this was about an hour after we came and other customers were on their laptops and were not asked the same as well…) I think they should make it clear that they don’t want laptops in their shop (some shops clearly state that on their google page and front door), and that each individual of a party needs to buy something if they wish to be welcome at this coffee shop. And personally, I wouldn’t ever ask guests to leave, but rather tell them to not come back with their laptops next time and let them know they are uncomfortable when not everyone in a party...

Before reaching why I gave them 2 star, let's talk about what was good. To be fare, their coffee taste was very good. I also took 2 pastries, both were perfect and delicious. So, nothing is wrong about what they have. The issue is there is a sign on the door that says don't bring your dogs inside. I'm afraid of dogs, and more than that, I don't like to have animals in the restaurant and coffee shops were I'm eating. But during the time I was there, several people with dogs (including very big one) come and go and I should change my seat several times to avoid those dogs jump on me The employees did not care when I showed my sadness about this issue. So either remove that sign from the door (which was the reason I selected this coffee shop to go inside) or if you have that sign, respect...
