Response following the reply from the owner: I had originally put a 2 star but changed it to 1. I did email the manager as suggested in the owners response, and they never got back to me. I am now wondering whether customer service is a priority to them.
Original review: I decided to come to this store as I was interested in trying between two pairs of two different brands. The store didn't have one of the model altogether and had a different size for the other model. I told the salesperson, who is a French guy (I am also french, so I could tell by the accent), that I will probably check online to see for the other model you don't have in-store, to which he suggested that I buy them with him and get them delivered at the store. This would be easier he said. I asked why it would be easier and he wasn't really able to reply. I don't even live in the area so I said no (took me 45min to get there), I prefer not buying them with you and have them shipped here. I'd rather try them in a different store first and buy them once am sure. Quickly his face changed and that was the end from his part. No questions whether there's anything else he can do, no follow-up. I was actually interested in trying other brands and very open to purchasing a new pair even if it wasn't the one I had in mind initially. I had paid my parking for 30 min but ended up leaving in 5 min.
The worst part is that the guy never tried to be nice, no smile, no asking how I am, what kind of shoes I am looking for, if I am open to alternative brands... Meanwhile another lady enters and his attitude is unrecognizable, all smiles and "how I can help you mam". I felt like a second class customer, which is pathetic and a feeling which is unheard of for a Canadian customer...

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I'm actually appalled by the way in which I was treated this morning. I went to the running room today with my 20 month old child to purchase a specific pair of shoes someone had recommended for an issue I was having. I had every intention to purchase these shoes today. I was greeted by a female employee, the only employee there and she was beyond horrific. She was rude, condescending and dismissive. I was so shocked I wasn't sure how to react...so I simply left. I have to say, I'm not a demanding shopper at all, nor was I asking for too much...there was nobody else in the store so she wasn't overly busy. I have worked in the service industry so I understand the challenges AND I worked at this specific store when it originally opened... 'm sorry, this kind of treatment is unacceptable and should never be tolerated...and I'm pretty sure it does not align with the running room standards. I would have purchased a 200$ pair of shoes, but because of the treatment, I could not allow myself to support the store. I spoke with my aunt afterwards and she expressed very similar treatment. She's been a personal trainer for over 40 years and has purchased many pairs of shoes from the Running room. I'm sad, because this is a Canadian company and I was happy to support them. I would not recommend going there for any kind of purchase, and I will certainly not shop there again. How disappointing. This is also the first time I've ever written a review online...but I just can't shake how awful my short...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI needed comfortable shoes for my trip and support for my plantar fasciitis. I returned a pair of never worn Brooks that I ordered, the shoes were shipped to the store since the size and color were not in stock on-site. Upon pick up, I tried them once in store to ensure a good fit. A couple of days later I saw my podiatrist a day before leaving on my trip and showed her the sneakers I planned on wearing, unfortunately it wasnāt the right support for my foot problem and she did not recommend them. Due to timing, I decided to return the sneakers after I got back from my trip. The day I returned the item, the woman at the counter was in horrid mood and turned over one of the shoe and said rudely we donāt normally accept returns of worn shoes! I told her they were never worn and explained why Iām returning them. She still proceeds to tell me that next time I should check to make sure they werenāt worn and that since they were Brooks they can make an exception- I repeated the shoes were never worn and only tried in-store when I collected them. That was my first experience at the store⦠terrible. I will never return nor support their shop moving forward. The reason I give them two stars was because the male attendant was very helpful and explained the different types of sneakers when I decided on...
