I would like to share my experience - not only as a customer (who has been there with friends several times) but also as an ex-employee. If families have been frequenting this restaurant for over two decades, it probably did more than a good job in making people feel at home – including me. Having been able to try the whole menu at least 5 times, I was so confident selling anything because I knew – through my own senses – that there was just no average choice, the food is simply outstanding. In nearly two years I have never heard the chef saying “no, I can`t”. His speech was always something like: “if they want to replace anything, just let me know”, or “the two people sharing on table 5 are students, right?”, then he would put a bit more of pasta than usual. His character and commitment to quality were reflected on every plate. Whenever I would see a group of tourists visiting Montreal I would think “these people are damn lucky to have found this place!” And every girl who worked with me eventually came back without their uniform, with 3 or 4 people and a few bottles of wine because they all shared that feeling of “my friends need to come here!" The passion put in each home-made dessert, the cleaning standards and the warmness with which we are treated is a combination we do not find in every corner. Toucheh means “provision” in Persian, and it does justice to its name: it is a provision for clients who celebrate marriages and birthdays there, for their employees who are treated (and fed, I must say) like family, and the enlightened family who runs this restaurant. I am absurdly grateful for this place in the heart of Westmount - and in mine too.

Persian and Italian? I get why, but really? Perfect one over the other. Ok, it was a Monday night at 7 pm that we went to eat. There were a few, 4 to be exact, tables of customers, but the server, 1, could have been more attentive. We asked that a second bottle of wine be kept cold. Instead, she opened it. We were then forced to drink it. As for the food...it was tasty but the portions are small. I had the Joojeh Chicken Kebab. It was served with soup or salad, onions that hid the chicken, saffron rice and an undercooked grilled tomato. The chicken was tasty and well cooked, but there was hardly any chicken. Like I said, it was smothered in sauted onions to hide the lack of chicken. The rice was really good and the tiny salad was delicious. I wanted more. My partner had the lamb shank. He said it was good but not enough. In summary, for the price you pay ...the portions are tiny. Will we go back? Probably not. There are many other Persian restaurants that give bigger portions and are more economical.

We chose this restaurant because we were looking for Persian cuisine and a BYOB option.

Overall Recommendation: AVOID

Food: We should have been skeptical from the start, as the restaurant advertises both Persian and Italian dishes. Given the number of excellent Persian restaurants in Montreal, Toucheh is definitely one to avoid—there are far better options available.

The traditional Persian dishes we ordered were absolutely disappointing. Not only were they bland and lacking any flavor, but they also consisted of nothing more than rice and onions.

Portion sizes were extremely small—primarily a cup of rice (clearly reheated in the microwave), half a tomato, and a pile of roasted onions. The meal included two tiny pieces of chicken and filet mignon, both hidden under the onions. The appetizers—a lentil soup and a salad—were also completely flavorless.

Price: $50 for a microwaved cup of rice, half a tomato, and a pile of roasted onions—plus tip?

Atmosphere: We had an early dinner, so the restaurant wasn’t too busy. The atmosphere was decent overall. However, Christmas music in March did not exactly set the mood. We even had to ask for it to be changed!

Service: The service was okay, but since the restaurant was nearly empty, it’s hard to judge how they handle...

Back here once again! Never had a bad meal.or service here. Now they are starting a brunch menu cab not wait to try it.

My go to favorite restaurant! Anytime anyway any meal! On off days we have tried lunch at our favorite dinner restaurant and have not been disappointed. Remarkable cuisine. Give it a go you will not regret it. Never had a bad meal here!

Experienced another fantastic meal in newly decorated and redesigned dining room.Just love this place!

My favorite restaurants by far in Montreal Great food any meal

e have enjoyed this restaurant several times a year. I called last Wednesday evening to book a table for Saturday at 7 pm, for a special anniversary. They called back and I returned their call and my reservation was confirmed.Upon arrival needless no reservation nor table available. We left our name and number for some one to call us back and needless to say no one has called.Extremely disappointed, thought management was classier than this.

The management did call me back in the last two days and after investigating offered us a compensation to amend fir the error. This does show how classy they are and human error happens.

We t back March 2020 a superb...
