The food looked so good, but tasted so bad. The service was good and the atmosphere is definitely nice.
We ordered a braised beef dish and the Coconut Chicken curry. The curry dish tasted like half a can of sweet condensed milk was pour in. It tasted just like a mango rice dessert, but it was supposed to be an entrée and was full of vegetables. And the chicken was completely unrecognizable. I have no idea how they made it look like that, wobbly, flat, and plasticky looking. I finally gave up trying to eat it and told my husband I had to order something else. Beef and broccoli is my favorite, and I figured if that didn't work out this restaurant is just not for me. It looked so good! But there were other veggies than broccoli, and all undercooked. The beef matched the chicken as an unrecognizable... Thing... And the sauce was a watery soup with no depth, once you swallowed a bite there was absolutely no flavor left in your mouth. I ended up giving this to my husband so it could be finished. He also took the curry because we don't like to waste things. I ordered from the "a la carte" menu so had to order steamed rice on the side, and it was not large enough for the entrées (I tried to force myself to eat them by adding lots of rice). Still extremely disappointed days later. I had been saving money so we could go out and it was such a flop. My husband said his dish was okay, but couldn't say it was good. It was over 100$ for our meal (with tip and...
Read moreFirst time at this restaurant. Shockingly bad food, for a place with lovely décor. Fried noodle sticks with a ketchup-based concoction posing as cherry sauce for dipping. The wonton soup was akin to a bowl of salt water, with a couple of tasteless wontons thrown in. When I bit into the vegetable egg roll, it surprisingly smelled and tasted like a combination of rotting meet and bleach. At this point I spoke to a woman in charge and told her the problem. She smiled and took my plate away without responding to my complaint. The peanut butter dumplings were okay so I thought I'd give the main dish a chance. She brought the main dish of vegetables and shrimp. Again, there was that familiar taste and smell of bleach coming from this gelatinous goo. After trying the shrimp, I had to spit it out because it was rotten. The fried rice tasted like it was fried with charcoal and black pepper. It was awful! They saw I wasn't eating and came over to ask me if I wanted it to go. I told her I CAN'T EAT THIS! She shrugged and told me that the food here is good, and that nobody complains, and gave me the bill. I will...
Read moreI went there three days after Christmas 2017. I arrived after 8 pm and had one of their a la carte menu items. It involved a choice of soup (hot and sour or won ton) choice of appetizer (egg roll or peanut butter dumplings) and choice of main. I chose the Hot and Sour soup, peanut butter dumplings and their version of General Tao Chicken with steamed rice. Despite the late hour they were generally pleasant and served me in a timely manner. The three stars are because the General Tao Chicken was not too tasty. Everything else was fine except the price. The price tip included cost $31. A little too pricey but good food overall....
