Would have been a 5 star if it wasnt for the bad attitude from the girl at the front who seats the guests. Me and my wife and one year old daughter went there about half an hour ago and we asked if they had high chairs and the girl at the podium says "sorry we don't have any high chairs you can try a somewhere else" Then I asked if strollers were allowed and she said that's fine after a little bit of push from me. Didn't really seem like she wanted us there. So we were Seated on the patio which was great, great Views. Our server came by she was awesome! She made our experience wonderful. As we are enjoying our meal we seen some elderly people come up and ask the same girl at the podium if they have some type of cofee at this restaurant. She replys "this is a pub not a cafe, we serve alcohol and drip coffee" me and my wife just looked at each other in shock, so rude. I could tell the husband was upset but they sat down anyways. I have to say the food was awesome. Tuna tataki was amazing. At the very end we had to leave because our child was getting cranky so I asked the girl at the front if she could get our bill for us because we have to head back, she then points to the server and says "that's your server" and walks away. I just feel bad for the owner of this place. It's a great venue great location great food great service other than the main hostess...
Read moreIf you look at some of their recent reviews you will notice the same issue popping up. In today's world people understand that restaurants have a hard time find people to hire or show up. Things happen. What people won't put up is rudeness. On a Monday at 3:45pm in April, there were 2 older couples in there 60's and another couple in front of us and two more couples behind us. We waited just to talk to the hostess for over 10 minutes. The group at the front said the hostess said she would be right back and that was over 20 min ago. They tried to track down a server walking by but he ignored them. I opened my mouth and asked was there a reason that the hostess was not attending to everybody. The guy with a beard shrugged his shoulders. The group in front asked why it was necessary to wait so long just to talk to hostess. the sever's response, "It happens." Everybody in line left. My family ate across the way with no wait. While we were eating noticed the same happen two more times. The line would get to 8-10 people, nobody would be available to talk to the people in line and they would leave. Again, things happen and restaurants are short-staffed but I don't understand why you have to be rude about it. The weren't even half-full which makes it even more odd why a restaurant would...
Read moreBeacon Pub and Eatery in downtown Whistler is undeniably a fantastic spot to enjoy a casual meal and a cold beer. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this place has a lot to offer.
I recently visited Beacon Pub and Eatery and tried a few of their signature dishes. The Poutine was a true Canadian delight, with crispy fries smothered in rich gravy and cheese curds. It's the perfect comfort food to accompany a cold brew.
But what truly impressed me was the Steak Frites. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and the fries were crispy and flavorful. This classic dish was executed flawlessly and exceeded my expectations.
As for drinks, the Beacon Bad Boy Caesar deserves a special mention. It's a refreshing and savory twist on the classic Caesar cocktail, and it quickly became my favorite. The bold flavors and unique presentation make it a satisfying beverage.
The ambiance at Beacon Pub and Eatery is inviting, with a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for winding down after a day of adventure in Whistler. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish.
By the way their French Fries are the best and don't miss out on the Steak Frites and the Bad Boy Caesar – they are a winning...
