Sundial is a hotel I visited a number of times in the past. It has the best location and it offers larger suites. This time the experience however was mixed. Service from most of the staff has been outstanding, but the guy who was checking us in didn't even acknowledge my concern about problems with parking when checking in. He seemed indifferent or even unwelcoming during the check in process. Totally different from the rest of the staff with whom I had a chance to interact during the stay. More importantly, the rooms (I am assuming that mine was representative of most) - we had the premium suite - was showing signs of aging with wall paper pealing off in the bathroom, black "mold" at the bottom of the tiles where grout is supposed to be, even just holes into which I observed a bug (silverfish, I think) running away to. I consider pests a serious issue. You could bring some back home with your laggage and have a problem. The master bedroom had a broken electrical socket that was exploding inside when we were trying to plug something in. The dishwasher was not secured and was coming out when you opened the door. The rest of the room wasn't as bad but occasional wear on the walls or the furniture was apparent. The advertised Netflix access was only through a device you had to borrow from the lobby and set up in your room - it wasn't just there - we tormented the remote for quite a while before we realized it wasn't there and the info sheet didn't tell you what you needed to do. No central air conditioning, which is typical unfortunately, but it means that you either don't sleep because of the noise or the heat. It was up to 34C outside. The elevators, especially the floor, was looking really bad. I hope this place gets a serious uplift soon. On the positive note, I really appreciated the phone call a few days before the arrival to confirm the details and give us opportunity to ask any questions. We requested an extra bed, which was provided. It would be awesome if the furniture was also rearranged to accommodate the extra bed, but that's not a big deal.

Stayed here 1 night with my extended family of 5 in the 2 bedroom suite with a hot tub. The stay was okay, but definitely not worth the price for the experience we had. Next time we will go somewhere else. Our reservation clearly stated we have 5 guests who will be checking in, and when arriving into the room all the toiletries were only good for 2 people. Had to ask extras for basically for most of the things and had to keep asking for room service to come back and forth due to this. Another problem we had was it was very difficult for us to connect to Netflix services. The HDMI that we had was faulty and it took 3 tries (3 different cables) to have it finally working. The wifi connection was also poor that when we were watching TV the pictures were very pixelated or our movie would pause at times due to the poor wifi connection. Many of these issues could have been prevented if they just checked how many people will be checking in, and instead of sending us different cords at 3 different times, a hotel staff should have checked in and helped us after the second call and made it easier for both parties. Aside from those problems, the hotel suite was clean, the hot tub felt amazing and we had a good night sleep. However, for the price and the experience we had, the price was not justifiable. There are other hotels in Whistler who will provide the same service at a lower price.

Really lovely hotel stay that we treated ourself too for our 10th wedding anniversary, whilst staying in Whistler. We booked a one bedroom hot tub Suite (room 801 on the top floor) and weren't disappointed at all!! Amazing views, not overlooked by any other rooms at all. Would highly recommend staying out in the hot tub until it is dark, there are so many stars to see, my husband even saw two shooting stars. We used the laundry facilities (in the basement), which was paid for via an app. We liked this as it meant we could come back to the room whilst the washing was in, and the app said how long was left. Also, there was a vending machine in the laundry that gives free tide powder and bounce drying sheets - a nice touch! There was a pillow menu in the room, so you could choose the most comfortable pillow, I wish I had utilised this as woke up with a stiff neck after my first night. The only slight downside was the noise you can hear from local bars, the windows don't seem to block out much noise. But the singers we could hear were actually very good and had finished by 10.30pm and so this did not disturb our night. Also to note that earplugs are provided by the hotel in the welcome basket. All in all, a great stay and would definitely visit again.

Best hotel for mountain bikers!

This place is a PARADISE for mountain bikers. As with anything, its the people that truly make it an awesome place to stay. The staff here are incredible, but that does not overshadow the cleanliness, attention to detail (like selecting your pillows!) and the hospitality.

BIKES This is a mountain bikers paradise! I stayed here for one week during Crankworx and if you're thinking about riding, bringing the family or just looking for a home away from home that doesn't hassle you about your bike this is the place! What makes it so special: Bike repair station and wash in the basement, fully stoked with Peaty's products, rags, tools and knowledgeable staff who ride. Very, very flexible front desk staff who watch over your bike in the lobby, supply you with rags for your chain The BEST espresso machine right in the front desk areas They take bike security seriously. No ticket, no bike, the bike stands ensure your bike does not get mishandled and the staff are available 24/7 to let you in at the ring of a bell!

THE ROOMS Full kitchen in your room - YUP, we cooked a 10lb chicken for the family and enjoyed the full size fridge and again..coffeee!!!! The room comes stocked with some craft beer! How good! A yoga mat is included in your room!!!

AND MORE There is a full service and rental shop right in the lobby and the staff are super knowledgeable about other things to do and see.

PRO TIP The internet and desk setup in your room is awesome for work! Get a room on the village side if you want to people watch and overlook the village. If you want a more private view and less ambient noise, get a room on the far side. The booking slots of the hot tub are awesome - its your own private oasis, book a sunset time! Valet your car - seriously..seriously, worth it! Laundry takes coins, but simply see the front desk and they will add it to your stay because, who carries coins nowadays!? Ask to pet "Happy", he's the unofficial dog mascot...bonus points...

So I booked this over the phone with the hotel. 4 nights for my anniversary. My wife has a head injury so I wanted to go away and possibly help her recover. I told all this to the person taking the reservation. They took my reservation and charged my card right away. Almost $1000 a night for the deluxe room. It was going to be worth it I thought. We arrived and all the staff were super nice. I would expect that for a 4star hotel. We unloaded all of our luggage with no help offered. Oh well I thought. We got up to the 7th floor. Room super nice. Kitchen. Private deck, hot tub. Heated bathroom floor. We went for a stroll around the village then back to the room. This would have been around 6pm. Wow. It was so loud in the room, all the rooms except for the deck. That was quiet. -8 but quiet. Then noticed the ear plugs. What the heck. Why did they not mention this at the time I called? My wife cannot take loud noises. We were stunned. We tried to get as much sleep as we could that night. The noise stopped about 1am. Then would start up again about 9 am. Not as loud. But there.

The other problem that happened at 9 am was sewage smell coming through the drains. Brutal. We closed the tub drain and a wet towel over the shower drain. Also black mild at the bottom of the shower. The next day was the same. Then after two nights they text me about the stay. I said my concerns and was offered a day spa during off hours. Great. If it was not paid in full we would have left. We probably should have but that is allot of money to waste. Upon checking out I mentioned the problems again. They covered the parking. Nice. $160.

The problem is they should have stated that it was really loud when I called. I would not have booked. I do not know whistler. So what am I supposed to expect from a 4 star...
