The Whistler Blackcomb mountains are a pair of mountain peaks in the Western region of British Columbia in Canada. It is located in one of the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains and is the home of the all season resort more commonly known as Whistler. It is the biggest ski area in all of North America. The 2010 Winter Olympic Games were hosted at Whistler. It is almost perpetually covered with snow most of the year, and the gentle slopes of the mountainsides make it very suitable for skiing, biking and hiking. There are many ziplines as well. The Peak 2 Peak Gondola ride is absolutely top-of-the-list must do in Whistler. The views from the gondolas are simply spectacular. At the peaks of either the Whistler or Blackcomb mountain there are restaurants and washrooms where you can enjoy your meals gazing at the beautiful scenery. You can also do some shopping for souvenirs or clothes. There are many resorts to stay in Whistler. The sloping roofs of all the buildings and the beautiful architecture give the village a very Swiss-like Alpine atmosphere. It is a place worth visiting for a great vacation. We visited the resort town...
Read moreFor over a decade, Whistler blackcomb has been one of my favorite ski resorts. This family-friendly Resort is fully smoke free, making it a great place to enjoy the fresh Mountain Air. With a gondola going from the village to the top of Whistler, as well as a gondola running up blackcomb, and the peak2peak joining the two of them together, it is very easy and fast to get around the mountain. Whistler has better beginner runs with tons of green runs, well blackcomb has more blue and black runs. My favorite place to grab food is either The Roundhouse, or the crystal Hut. Not only can you get waffles the crystal Hut in the day, but at night time you can snowmobile up to get a fondue or salmon baked dinner which is a fun way to end your day on...
Read moreThis is my first ski season, and Whistler was always something I thought I needed to be well prepared for before this trip. It has a very good reputation for its ski resort and sceneries plus its convenience when people are able to have a same day ski trip. The commute options include taking a shuttle bus, having a car pool or just simply driving up to Whistler. The sea to sky highway is enjoyable yet requires some experience to drive due to its natural curves. When it comes to skiing, Whistler is undoubtedly expensive. A day ticket can simply cost you $250. There is an option for beginners which can be purchased 3 times only in a lifetime at the counter. There’s no night skiing as well which means you have to leave at around 4 PM. What...
