The Whistler Grocery Store — Local services in Whistler Resort Municipality

Picked up a few groceries from the Whistler Grocery store and appalled at the checkout staff. 2 young women were having a full on re-cap of their evening when I walked up. Instead of putting they’re conversation on hold, they continued talking across the aisle WHILE serving customers without missing a detail. Incredibly rude. Is it that difficult for employers to find halfway decent employees? Was there absolutely no training for checkout staff? Or are they so daft and self centred that they couldn’t see how inane their conversation was? I only go to this store because it’s convenient. This is a reminder to leave time to walk to Fresh Street or stop in Squamish on the way up. Some guidelines and training would go a long way to make shopping here more pleasant. Just telling it...

All the grocery under a roof. I am satisfied with the variety of the products but one of the cashier, I wish I knew his name he had a kind of wicks hairstyle. I was in a line to get my stuff billed and it was my time to go to the counter. I was talking to my wife so I could not hear the other cashier calling me "next". And this guy ( the guy with Wicks hairstyle) shaked his head while staring at me as if I did a serious crime. After working in a custimer service industry for than 6 years I have never expressed anything like that to my customers even if they are rude to me and here I just couldn't hear the cashier once and this guy made me feel so bad. I have nothing against the store or other cashiers but this guy should be questioned by...

Convenient, with friendly staff and reasonable selection of items, however this is not the place to stock your pantry from. Fresh meat and produce are limited, the dairy case is is small as is the bakery. It is set up for the tourist crowd with a selection of ready made or quick prep items and lots of snack foods which works for it's location and size. The real drawback to this and pretty much any other store in Whistler Village is you're paying a tourist premium for the convenience.

I will continue to shop here but as function of convenience, like going to 7-11 to buy milk because everything else is closed, I will shake my head in disgust everytime I go through the register at how much my lack of forethought and laziness...
