I visit the Forks for conferences and try to eat in this food hall because of the variety and the prices.

Was excited to see a NEW vendor Basta! My partner and kids are Filipino and I love the food but there aren’t many places (let alone fast-food) that serve it!

I was trying several items from a few different stalls and got the snack size Lechon (whole bbq pig! Which isn’t available usually outside big family events where you cook a whole pig). There was a very good portion of food and they crisped up the skin to capture that porky-magic!!

I’m just angry I didn’t read the reviews before because I missed ordering the “Leche Flan” a caramel pudding type dessert that’s also very rare, and everyone like’s the way their gramma/Lola makes it best so if people say it’s good, got to give it a...

Ordered the tapasilog for myself and the tocilog for my dad. The tapasilog was good, decent portion and pretty filling and tasted good. The tocilog was severely underseasoned. I can tell they are home made but it didn't have the sweetness you'd expect from tocino.

The girl taking our order seemed to be in a bad mood when we walked up. Just looked at us when she came up to the counter, no hello or anything. Also didn't really respond when we gave our orders. And then when she asked for our phone number to let us know when the food was done, my dad misspoke and gave one wrong digit and she gave him an annoyed look when he apologized for it. And then she got the phone number wrong anyways.

It's the forks so atmosphere is fine. Food was OK....

We went to market at The Forks as soon as we checked in at our hotel upon arriving in Winnipeg. It was our first time visiting Winnipeg and The Forks so we had absolutely no idea what to expect.

We walked around the market and settled on Basta. We both ordered the lechon kawali and shared an order of lumpia. Our plates looked so good when we picked them up at the counter and dove right in as soon as we brought them to our table.

The deep fried pork belly pieces were juicy and crispy in every single bite. The garlic fried rice went perfectly with the sunny side up eggs and the pork belly pieces. The lumpias were freshly fried and packed with pork filling.

It was a very good welcoming lunch for our visit...

This cute little eatery in the heart of the Forks did not disappoint. Gourmet plating at affordable price. The lumpia was devoured by my picky daughter as well as the rest of us. The adobo was savory and the only down side was not enough of the vibrant side salad. But… what they failed to sell enough was their flan. That was a magically creamy flavorful egg flan with just a hint of citrus that was a rich and creamy mouthful bite after bite. It was one of the best flans I ever had (may my mother never find this review).
