I was looking for a place to buy lunch and figured I would go out of my way to avoid food chain places while the building where Jay's cafe is has been under construction. Jay has not disappointed. This place is a hidden gem and the quality of food here cannot be compared to a franchise. The daily specials are fantastic and I have yet to have a bad meal here after dozens.
The one review on here that gives Jay only two stars suggests they stopped in for dinner and the price was over $100 per person. You can safely ignore that review because in 2024 Jay's specials are between $7.99 and $9.99. Oh, and this place is not open for dinner by the way...

I had just finished visiting Dr. Levi on the 2nd floor and was about to go down the stairs to the main floor when I noticed C.Jay's further down. I was immediately greeted by C.Jay himself with a smile and a cheerful welcome. He asked if it was my first time because I did look a little bit confused. I asked for eggs and toast, and he made me a delicious egg and cheese sandwich. I also enjoyed my coffee. I will definitely go back and recommend it here.
