Best spicy ramen I’d ever had (EDIT) I’ve been coming to this place since I was 10 years old with my mom. since no one could watch me at home in the summer I had to go with my mom to work which was hydro nearby. And for every lunch she always took me to this restaurant to get a spicy ramen because at that age I was obsessed with anything ramen and only ever had instant noodles until I found greenish. Everytime I went I would order a spicy ramen with extra kimchi and often would be given it for free probably because I was a kid at the time. I’ve been to Japan recently and fufilled my dream of eating ramen in Japan and now that I’m back in Canada this ramen is still my favourite place to get it in Winnipeg. I recently visited the place for lunch with my brothers because my mother recently passed and I wanted a comfort memory, but as soon as I took a mouthful of broth and noodles it was like I was 10 years old again eating ramen with my mom. I even shed a tear with one of the owners of the restaurant once they found out about my mother which I didn’t even know if they would remember me. The service at this place is amazing though they do get busy at times during lunch they try their best to make sure every customer is treated fair and equal and truly care for their customers. Now if spicy ramen isn’t your thing I promise you that this restaurant is full of delicious foods and I promise you that this is a hidden gem that deserves to be found by all of Winnipeg and I hope to bring my own children to Greenish one day to share a memory I grew up with. To greenish thank you for making your food a core memory for me and a memory I can use to remember my...
Read moreCame in for the first time in a few years as I happened to have the weekday free and could finally come back. I requested a table for one and he said to look over the menu and order at the counter. I said okay and he went to serve other patrons. I placed my order and he had me pay immediately. I expressed that I couldn't remember their policy, if you paid before or after service and was met with a blank expression. When he brought me water, I said, "thank you" and was met with a blank expression and no words. He brought out the food and I again said, "thank you" and was again met with a blank expression and no words. It was noticeably different from the way I watched him treat other patrons. I saw other patrons come in and not be required to pay beforehand and saw other patrons who were there before me walk up and pay afterwards. I wouldn't say that I dress in a way that is in any way scruffy or unbecoming. I understand that they would not recognize me as a returning customer as it has been a few years, and that's fine. But if you are going to have what amounts to two-tiered service, perhaps be...
Read moreBeen to this restaurant twice now and I have a lot of good things to say about this place. The servers are prompt, helpful and quick. The place is a little bit small but clean. As for the food, I had tried 2 different dishes(see pictures) and i can say it's delicious and someting that you will definitely come back to. To nitpick though, their dishes are a little but expensive and portion size is just average. If they can improve on serving size with the same quality, I would definitely give it a 5 🌟.
BTW, I tried their spicy ramen and it's quite...
