I’ve been going here for years, even before when it was Miyabi….and slowly it’s been declining the last couple. Tonight was not so great. The service and staff are all very pleasant, friendly and quick. The rolls are always slightly different. Not sure if it’s due to different chef or…. Had one of my favorites (Naru roll) tonight, the breading on the shrimp inside the roll was hard, soaked in grease and almost inedible. The veggie tempura had a very thick heavy greasy coating. Not the norm. Veggie caterpillar roll, the eggplant inside was almost invisible. Sad to see the decline in food here :(.

Delicious food, will definitely be back. We had the assorted tempura followed by the pink dolphin, double salmon, spicy crunchy, bakudan, unagi and grilled scallop rolls (which was waaaay too much food but not regretted at all). The only roll I didn't like was pink dolphin, the ham on top was so weird but I think that's just a preference issue. The double salmon roll was both of our favourite roll it was fresh and flavourful. The food came out quickly. The service was good, but the server was a little difficult to find at times, having to wait to order and also for the bill.

Honestly nothing special. I’ve had a lot better sushi and I’ve had a lot worse. Sushi pizza lacked flavour. Fish wasn’t anything great and portions of it were either small or thin. Rice was decent and wasabi was spicy and really good. Two rolls fell apart. Can’t remember the name of roll, maybe October rain roll, but it had shoestring yam piled on, basically burying the roll in it. Looked nothing like on the menu. Best thing I had was some salmon Rose (there was 2) which had great presentation and flavour. The spicy sauce tasted really good.

The special roll was pretty good (we got dark horse) but the other rolls were okay but not amazing. Plus points are the salmon and butterfish (i think) was really fresh and the ratio of rice to fish/stuffs was very reasonable as you can see in the photos. Minus point is none of them really stood out or flavorful. Tbh, it's more like a solid 3.5 stars but my boyfriend said he had better Naru rolls before so will try again and update if needed. For now, you still have my 4 starts, Naru. Price: 60$ish + tax and tip

Best sushi in Winnipeg! I come here a few times a month. I always get an order of the spicy jumbo roll (with salmon)and the Naru roll because they’re easy 10/10s. If you’re vegetarian they also have a huge vegetarian menu! I’ve tried the October rain roll after seeing recommendations here and it wasn’t my favourite. Still good, but way too much crispy yams for my liking! Sashimi quality is great and melts in your mouth, but portions could be bigger. Overall a real hidden gem and a place you need to try!
