I spent about $100 on an order form here one night. I paid for two sauces (peanut and garlic sauce) to go with various things. The garlic sauce was put in with my order of wings (same container). I did not order garlic sauce for the wings, that was for my shrimp rolls. The sauce leaked all over the wings and because the wings were hot, the styrofoam container melted and garlic sauce leaked all over the entire bag of food including all over my shirt and house floor when I collected the delivery. Ruined my shirt, ruined my wings, made a very big mess and I didn’t even get to enjoy the sauce with my shrimp rolls.

SKIP the dishes online says any issues with food delivery is the restaurant’s issue. When I contacted sukhothai, they offered nothing but to say that it was the delivery drivers fault because they “grab” the food quickly and are “careless”. I reminded the restaurant staff that they put my garlic sauce in the same container as the wings and that it shouldn’t have been in there since I didn’t order it to go with the wings and that the driver wouldn’t have put it there.

Unfortunately sukothai offered nothing to make up for the fact that the wings, sauce and a few other dishes were ruined before arriving. And SKIP takes no accountability. .

Careful if you choose to order from sukothai. No one cares about the quality of the food you receive and there is no make up for poor results. A shame since I’ve been getting food here for years. Also the restaurant is very pricy so disappointing to pay for ruined food. Also frustrating that ppl are pushed to tip SKIP before the driver delivers the food because in my case I apparently tipped a “careless” driver that “grabs” food from the...

Sukhothai in Winnipeg is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Thai cuisine. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted by friendly staff who provide excellent service throughout your meal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that transports you to Thailand.

But what really sets Sukhothai apart is the food. The menu features a wide variety of Thai dishes, from traditional curries to stir-fries, soups, and salads. Every dish is expertly prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic Thai flavors.

One dish that stood out to me was the basa red curry. This dish featured perfectly cooked basa fish in a rich and flavorful red curry sauce. The spice level was just right, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. It was obvious that the chef had put a lot of care and attention into preparing this dish.

The menu also includes a range of vegetarian and vegan options, making it a great choice for anyone with dietary restrictions. And if you're unsure of what to order, the staff is more than happy to make recommendations based on your preferences.

In addition to the great food, the service at Sukhothai is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They are always happy to answer any questions you may have and make sure that you have a great dining experience.

Overall, Sukhothai in Winnipeg is a standout Thai restaurant that is not to be missed. With its good service, nice atmosphere, and delicious dishes like the basa red curry, it's clear that this restaurant is a cut...

I support this local family owned restaurant and the food is easily the best Thai cuisine in all of Central Winnipeg. Yes, it is even better than it’s local competition Bangkok Thai. What makes it so special is the hard working Mom and Pop in the kitchen preparing food while their Daughter manages the rest of the staff (her very own children, cousins, siblings, etc.) all the while, bringing a degree of passion into her customers’ experience. The tasty authentic meal truly is a bonus after being apart of their family by eating in the Sukhothai Restaurant!

I first tried this restaurant when I immigrated to Winnipeg from the states and it was a really small place with not a lot of organized staff and the commitment they had to customer satisfaction was so above and beyond anything I had expected for a restaurant that it kept me coming back on a monthly (sometimes weekly) basis. Although it has grown into a large and upper scale dining environment, it is still just as customer oriented with the passion for the food and family. It is truly felt just as strongly now as it was in 2009, when I first stumbled upon the restaurant in my neighbourhood! I have celebrated a number of birthdays here and plan to continue with this for birthdays to come! They treat you like family here and nobody cooks...

The vibe is nice and clean but the flavour is lacking. My friends and I stopped by in Friday evening, so I understand that services may take a bit long, we waited for at least 10 minutes for someone to notice and take our orders. The food arrived a bit faster than that but I wish they took their time in preparing the food. We order Pad Kana with beef, Massaman (curry) with shrimp and papaya salad, all with spice level 4, but papaya salad was much spicier than the rest of the food. The presentation is nice but portion is very small, the large steamed rice is medium size at best at other places. The Massaman has the richness and aromatic of coconut milk, but it was bland. The shrimp was hot but the whole plate of curry was room temperature. I guess they cooked the shrimp, pour the room temperature curry base on top and serve without heating the whole thing up. The pad kana see the same faith, room temperature. But this time, the beef was not even hot and a bit chewy. And it’s also bland and submerged in too much liquid sauce. Yes, the sauce was runny and lacks flavour. The papaya salad seems to be the best part of the meal, it has balance of flavour, sour, saltiness and sweetness and a bit spicy for my friends so if you cannot tolerate much spiciness, may order it at spice level 1 or 2.

I've ordered on Skip so can't score for the service & atmosphere but the foods delicious! I typically get the Kaeng Kiew Waan (Vegetarian, scale 3 spice) with Vermicelli noodles & the coconut rice. The soup is amazing, the spice level isn't too low or too high, perfect if you're someone who's like me who can't handle spice but likes spicy food. The rice by itself is great too, but my favorite thing is after I'm done eating the vermicelli in the soup, whatever broth is left I add the rice & have it the next day for breakfast & lunch, sucks up all the flavor. Their fruit smoothies are well worth the price, I've tried the strawberry & watermelon ones & it tastes like fresh fruit, so refreshing.

Was visiting the city back in late April and decided on some thai food. Papaya Salad: This one had a very weird taste and was super salty! It didnt feel like how its supposed to be. Totally was not feeling this one. The other two snacks, some sort of chicken wings and calamari was okay. The calamari came with a peanut sauce which was odd and no lemon. I would have preferred a different dipping sauce even for this dish specifically. The thai iced tea was as expected but a tad sweeter than I like it. I probably wouldn't visit again as I've had better thai food.
