i read the reviews and they seemed good so maybe it was a bad day for us i dont know. i went there with mum, ordered the steak (medium) and fries for myself and she ordered seafood rice (which she said was okay) food came out together (the fries had not come) which was nice until i saw my steak was basically still moooing on the plate i dont normally like to complain at restaurants so mum asked the waitress if she could take it back. the waitress was really lovely about it and apologised. then proceeded to wait about 15 minutes for the same steak bare in mind, mum had finished her meal by then and my steak was pretty much well done and sauce was missing omg almost cried. at least the fries came this time lol or so i thought until i ate one and it tasted like it had been refried. i was hungry and sad so ate with a sad face. i can’t complain about the service though the staff were very lovely and seemed more than competent its a shame the food wasn’t at the...

Nice location, good food, great cocktails. I also had the nicest waiter which is why I am giving this place 5 stars. Unfortunately, I ran out of small cash while in Cape Verde, and the waiter I had was absolutely lovely. The people coming ebbed and flowed throughout the evening, but as a solo traveller, people looked at my 2 seat table with envy and expected me to move. This was because the street performances nearby made the place suddenly more popular.

However, the waiter told me not to worry or rush, which was very reassuring. Meanwhile, many people were ordering coffees or beers, but it was different with 2 people garrisoning a table. I ordered about 4300 CVE between food and drink, but that wasn't immediately obvious to anyone just arriving. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience.

Firstly, the bread delivered to the table did not taste fresh with quite a stale taste. There was also no pre-warning that you had to pay for this bread, as none of us asked for it.

We followed some of the recommendations online about trying the Octopus risotto. This was really poor value for money with an overpowering taste of coriander. Compared to other dishes, you really did not get much food.

There was also screaming and shouting from children that came into the restaurant to dine. For some reason they were placed in the middle of the dining hall, despite being insanely loud. I know this is not the restaurant’s fault - but surely the family could have been placed in the vast other empty seating areas to be less disruptive to...
