Genuine Cab Verde — Restaurant in Sal

rarely leave reviews, but the experience at this restaurant was genuinely disappointing and frustrating from start to finish.

We waited over an hour for our order, and even something as simple as our initial drinks — a mango and pineapple juice — took multiple chases before they eventually arrived. I had to ask three separate times, and still got no clear update.

The waiter seemed completely unprepared and lacked basic communication skills. Every time I asked a question, he either gave a vague non-answer or claimed he would “go find out” — only to disappear or start serving other tables without ever updating us.

We weren’t the only ones either — we watched other customers grow impatient, and some even left without receiving their food. That says it all.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t just a one-off delay. It was a clear sign of poor organisation, poor service, and a staff that didn’t seem trained to handle even a moderate flow of customers.

Wouldn’t return, and definitely wouldn’t recommend based on...

This restaurant was the busiest so we thought it must be good. Having no idea where we're eating it was always going to be a gamble. I had to ask for drinks as they just left us sitting there waiting. When he finally took out order he just didn't seem to know what we were In about. The starters came which was ok, but then the main came (mine) and we waited, and waited and waited for my partners only to find he only took down 1 main meal. My poor partner had no food as he said no to waiting for them to bring it out. Not great service, and not great food either.

We were there on Saturday 22.02.25. Staff was super friendly and welcoming, especially a young Waitress called Erika 👍🏼😃. We ordered drinks which we got right away. The Restaurant and their Restrooms were exceptionally clean and big. Even the Kitchen is spotless, their Kitchen Staff wore Hair nets. We did not have food but everything that came out the kitchen looked nice. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. Behind the Bar is a big seating area. I would recommend this place without a doubt. The Prices are similar to the ones at home. For people with walking disability or guets in wheelchairs, not a problem. We would visit this...
