Had seen the very positive reviews for Tacu Tacu and it did not disappoint!
The restaurant is tucked away off the street so it’s a quiet atmosphere. We sat outside, and it was very clean and there were heaters, and the area could be enclosed to protect against weather.
I speak very little Spanish and the team were very patient and helpful, and we had no trouble ordering.
The meals are very good sizes, and actually we over ordered and could have just done with two. We enjoyed salmon ceviche in tigers milk, mixed skewers (which also came with a large serving of chips) and Tacu Tacu steak with seafood and cheese sauce. The steak was a real standout - great value and so beautifully cooked. The seafood was fresh, and the dish was really interesting! Not flavours I would usually put together but it was very good.
We had a few local beers and the staff also gave us a passionfruit pisco which was beautiful! Lovely fresh, sweet and a little bit sour - perfect way to finish off the meal. Thank you to the staff for a great experience...
Read morea cozy and authentic Peruvian restaurant in Santiago . The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and fresh. I ordered the tacu tacu a la norteña, which was a generous portion, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, I had the lomo saltado, a stir-fry of beef, onions, tomatoes, and fries, served with rice. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful, with a hint of soy sauce and vinegar. The fries were crispy and the rice was fluffy. I also enjoyed a glass of pisco sour, the traditional Peruvian cocktail made with grape brandy, lime juice, egg white, and bitters. It was smooth, frothy, and refreshing, with a nice kick. For dessert, I had the suspiro limeño, a creamy custard topped with meringue and cinnamon. It was sweet, light, and decadent, a perfect way to end the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Peruvian cuisine or wants to try something new and exciting. It is a gem in the city and I can’t...
Read moreIt was a wonderful evening. The service was absolutely perfect, professional and pleasant. Iced glasses for beer and chilled glasses for wine. Kudos! Honestly, it's a real bonus and it really touched us. The choice of wine went perfectly with the dishes. We tried the seafood "parrillada". An absolute delight. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasty. The sauce was a particular highlight; being French, it would have been a pleasure to take a piece of bread to wipe the sauce off the bottom of the dish, which just goes to show how good it was! We finished with a dessert, which I think was a "crema volteada", with a creamy, unctuous taste, combined with a little caramel sauce. For 4 of us, with a bottle of wine and a beer each, we paid 37$. A price worthy of the restaurant and the quality of the food. Thank you very much for this moment. After a good walk up San Cristobal hill, it’s a moment we'll remember for a long time. I highly...
