Simply “Insane” declares my wife….
A family run restaurant with an eclectic decor and marvelous food with a Colombian flare.
Start with probably one of the best Pisco Sour & Calafate Sours in Punta Arenas. We had the fish soup and the seafood (shrimp and scallops) risotto, which is highly recommended and on the chef’s recommendations, along with the tiramisu. We certainly were not disappointed with any of our selections.
Others also dining had one of the Colombian plates, which is a full meal unto itself, and a sizzling rib eye, a local specialty.
Allow enough time as each dish is individually prepared, so sit down, have a drink, look around at the decor and discuss your travel adventures.
One of our servers was Luna, who the restaurant is named after, is the daughter of the owner…we found her to be one of the most engaging and well articulated “young adults” and her passion for the restaurant comes out. Thus she epitomize the culture of Luna’s and deserves the five star rating.
Prices are slightly more that some of the other restaurants in town, but it is worth it as the quality...
Read moreWe arrived at the family run restaurant and were greeted warmly by Johan(sorry if I misheard). He was so welcoming and once shown to our seat, we were offered the QR code for English version of the menu (first time on our 3rd night eating out in Punta Arenas). The decor, music, atmosphere and attentive staff were very much to our liking and the food was extremely good. My husband and I enjoyed the experience so much that we booked for the following night,(our last night of trip) despite us having a full day tour planned at Torres Del Paine. We arrived at the restaurant tired, hungry and looking forward to a nice dinner, we were not disappointed the food was incredible. My husband raved about his Shrimp Pil Pil, "best he's ever had!" apparently. My Shrimp Fettuccine was so tasty with a generous portion of shrimp. The cake recommended for dessert was delicious. 10/10 for each course. We're definitely eating at Luan's when we visit Punta Arenas later this year, it's a highlight of the city.
We'll done to all the staff, the whole experience was...

The restaurant is unassuming and quaint, at the end of a quiet street. Which added to its welcoming environment. Inside appears random yet specifically selected items to decorate the interior. The table runners, napkins and rings, utensils, everything made the experience like home and comfortable.
The staff were all nice and inviting, apologetic if they thought they inconvenienced you in the slightest. The order was taken by I believe the owner, who is passionate about the food and service. And this added to the atmosphere, like eating with family.
The food was amazing! We had the shrimp pil pil, shrimp/scallop risotto, and the encocado. Everything tasted amazing! Flavored well as nothing was overpowering. And the food paired well with the drinks we had.
Every aspect of our visit was perfect and...
